Any more poetry-reading Jag fans out there?

    Why, yes there are!

Hi, Tahi. I loved this poem - its the first of your poems I've read, but it won't be the last.

Like many others, I think you captured Jag's character very well. Your phrasing and choice of words is lovely. Some of my favorite things:

That's what he does like about home.
The words stay in their place -
no sudden urges to sidle away.
    No surprises really.

    That's the orignal, grim, Chiss-Jag!

    . . . the throbbing tattoo
    of his heartbeat
    when he sees her or
    when she walks near;

    as the whisper
    of his breath
    against her hair

Jag with the layers peeled back - the Jag all his 'shippers love. [face_love]

    The microcosm he calls
us - Jaina and Jag -
    has become as familiar
    to him as home.

Jag reconciling the different parts of this life. Full circle, at least to this point.

I also like the recurring "home" theme. Home can be so many things...

Great job! I'm glad you "upped" so that I found this!

Lovely to meet you - and thanks for reading. Always nice to meet a fellow poetry-lover.

Like many others, I think you captured Jag's character very well. Your phrasing and choice of words is lovely.
    awww - thanks. :)

    LOL I like that nickname.

Jag with the layers peeled back - the Jag all his 'shippers love.
Yep - he's quite an interesting character. I know quite a few guys who are like this, so it's a recognisable "type". There's a lot going on underneath, but it doesn't make it to the surface very often.

I also like the recurring "home" theme. Home can be so many things...
Yes it can, both good and bad . . . but always familiar. :)

    Thanks again. :)

Great to meet another new face. Thanks. :)

Tahi, I'm such a fan! [:D] Your poems are a pleasure to read. You captured Jag beautifully, and the relationship between he and Jaina was wonderfully evoked. I loved this section:

But that's all right because war is
as natural to him as . . .

    . . . the throbbing tattoo
    of his heartbeat
    when he sees her or
    when she walks near;

    as the whisper
    of his breath
    against her hair
    when he takes her
    in his arms.

So sweet! [face_love] The way you linked that with the first line of the poem was excellent. Fantastic work! :D

This deserves another reply/up because it is about Jag, it is poetry, and it is marvelously written.

Hi again jedi_of_ennth and thanks for reading. :) And thanks also for the kind words.

Hi K_A. :) Aww - thanks. Yes, that last bit kind of wrote itself. Poems are like that sometimes - they kind of take over. ;)

Hi to you, too, CrazyRodian. Good to see you again. i guess you're busy with studies and exams at present. Good luck. :)

Ah - you like Jag? An interesting guy.

If any of you are interested - I posted an Obi-Wan poem a few days ago in The Saga. The link is below in my sig. :)

    Hi jade_saber8000. :)
Awww - thanks. I'm not a great fan of Jag, but he is quite interesting. And writing the poem has made me a bit more sympathetic towards him. :) I can relate his character type to some of the men I know, which helps.

I'm not a Jaina/ Jag fan (in fact I doubt if I'm any ship at all anymore) but I love this poem. It's very intense, every clear in emotions. The last bit "but he's trying" is very strong.

    Well done once again!

That's what he is, Mags. :) Thanks so much for reading.

Thanks for those comments. :) Really appreciated. I'm glad it is clear because that's always my worry with poems - that the images might get a bit muddied by the wrong structure. So thanks. :)

My own favourite poets are the ones who write in very clear images and quite spare language. :) People like Brian Turner and Seamus Heaney.
