Solo Sequel (Solo spoilers inside)

Right. Though they could also do smaller budget Solo sequels and maintain theatrical releases. Solo would have been labeled a big Box Office success if it cost as much as, say, Ant Man.

 

And also if it wasn't a SW movie. That label automatically increased expectations.

 

Yup. It's crazy how many things went wrong for Solo even though the film itself was a good one.

I'm afraid there won't be one

 

Maybe a loose Sequel not a direct if Disney does not release the Han solo Sequel to the Disney Streaming. Fans might want Alden Emerich back just like Ewan McGregor as obi-wan despite the Prequel Backlash.

History in anything does a lot of times Repeats itself, especially in both the movie business and Politics.

 

Yes Ewan McGregor was the best the about the PT - I think you could have a Kenobi move which encompasses the Alden Han Solo , Darth Maul , young Lando ect ......

 

Agreed, I would also like to see the Star Wars Underworld TV show, but that might be a One in million chance then solo Sequels now that Disney is in Charge.

 

The first Ant Man made over 500 M WW and the sequel made over 600 M.
Solo has not passed 400 M WW and likely will not.

400 M WW from a budget of say 140-150 M, that is not a big BO success, it would not be flop but not a huge hit either.

I want more Solo films. New boss, new job, new scoundrels both lovable and dreaded, rival factions, shoot outs, police chases, twists turns and fun. Show off more of that Solo brand of flying and that Chewie brand of brute strength

 

they could make a Solo sequel if they make a Maul movie. At least Qi'Ra would probably be in it!

 

I just want one sequel that gives us some Maul, Boba, Enfys, resolution for Q’ira and ends with Han dumping Jabba’s shipment.

Ending Solo the way they did, without following up with a sequel, is almost like ending a film with the words: "Watch for the next adventure of Buckaroo Banzai — Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League."

 

Or a James Bond movie ending with "James Bond will return"... and then he never does.

 

It’s like ending the movie with “Han Solo will return to fight Darth Maul...in A New Hope.”

And then Darth Maul never shows up in A New Hope because Lucas doesn’t care.

 

Beauty and the Beast crossed with The Sopranos. I like it.

 

As long as there is a bit of Qi'ra and Maul sexual tension going on.

 

That is unfortunately quite arousing.

A pseudo sequel where the focus is on Lando seems possible. Anything else is dead. No Solo 2 that's for sure.

 

Nothing’s for sure. There are multiple options and platforms for these. And the thing that brought down Solo was, as Iger just admitted, a really bad timing decision. The solution to that is to space things back out to the successful once-a-year schedule. I think we’ll get more Solo films eventually.

 

I think we could get something new from Alden's Han on the new streaming site if there's an economical production model.

The SW fanbase is much more likely to purchase the streaming site for new SW content than casual fans. And for the most part, the SW fanbase really like this movie. It wasn't a huge popular blockbuster of course, but the fans really liked it. That's exactly the type of niche that's perfectly suited for content on the streaming site.
