While it's all fine and dandy that we can tell who and who isn't banned, it still blows that we can't view the profiles of some deceased friends. Ultimately, I think we lost out on this one.

This OEPM thing is getting on my nerves...I just made a bad spelling error, and I couldnt correct it for minute, and I was praying that no one would see it and call me out on it. [face_blush]

And I actually think I see whats going on. What's happening is that the edit button is essentially acting as an override to the post. Meaning that instead of editing the post, its erasing what's there, and inserting the edit as a new post, hence the OPPM showing up.

The Web Site field in profiles is adding http://boards.theforce.net/UserPages/ to the beginning of the url

Flare, do you have the http:// included in your web page link?
If not, I've seen it add the page like you mentioned.
Try adding the http:// and see if that fixes it.

For the record, it also won't let you PREVIEW your message within a minute of you posting.

I have one idea, it might be unpopular but I think it's worth sharing. Bioware forums lock any thread that is political, religious, ect. Given the problems that have occured again and again here maybe they have a point.

Yeah, this is the REALLY annoying thing. Since I have to edit almost every time I use markup (stupid fingers!), being able to preview is kinda important to me. Can you guys do anything about this? Talk to IGN? I imagine the people at the IGN boards aren't very happy about it either.

Nancyallen, you might want to post that in an appropriate thread. I don't know why you chose this one.

Also, takes an edit and makes it a new post with first post quoted?

Any progress on the edit thing? This has to be a glitch, I can't imagine IGN intentionally did this.

Heres something I've noticed today about the OEPM. I made a post, went to edit it. Got the OEPM. Then I made another post under a minute, and didn't get the OPPM.

So apparently the OPPM has nothing to do with the OEPM.

change in coding? I can no longer see the posts I made my private forums - they are essentially absent from my 'previous posts' page.

prior to coding changes I could see the titles of MS or TJCC posts and links to them, but now they have gone! (obviously if I clicked them it took me to a "no access" type page)

Yep, I noticed that too. You may also notice in viewing a moderator's post history that it no longer shows any of their posts in private forums like it used to.

What's most likely happening is that all text editing is being handled by the same code now, whether it is a new post, or an edit.
