Welcome to the Song Parody Challenge!!


This challenge is designed for those poor, doomed, creative souls that can?t help but get a song stuck in their heads...and change the words!

All you have to do is choose a song, any song, and change the words depending on the challenge that you are given. For example, if the challenge is "Anakin and Padme," you could choose "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and change the words so that the song is about Anakin and Padme. I?m not sure how well that particular example would work, but you get the idea.

Qui-Gon Reborn is running the sock. She will post challenges periodically, depending upon how much Lord Real Life has eroded her defenses that week, and the players' responses.

Teh Rules

1. Try and pick a song that most people know. That?ll make voting for the winner a whole lot easier, not to mention increase your chances of winning!

2. Make sure that the original words to the song that you chose are clean and TOS-friendly. That helps us avoid a multitude of complications that will most certainly spoil everybody?s good time.

3. Similarly, please make sure that your current, improvised words are TOS-friendly.

4. The length of the song doesn?t matter, but use your best judgment when deciding which song to use. Are most people likely to appreciate a four-line song?

5. After the due date, users will be given 48 hours to vote for their favorite entry. Votes should be PM-ed to the sock.

6. The winner does not receive colors, but earns the right to brag to the whole JCF that they?ve got the creativity to
join the ranks of Weird Al!

7. Any questions should be PM-ed to the sock.

8. Yes, the rules are simple, but this is in the best interests of making everybody's life nice and easy.

Challenge 1: Our Wars

We all love Star Wars, otherwise we wouldn?t be here! Change the words to any song so that the song is about Star Wars in real life.

This first challenge is really up to you. The song could be about your love of Star Wars, how Star Wars changed your life, Star Wars as a form of escape, Star Wars fans, why you love Star Wars...anything that you can think of pertaining to Star Wars and real life.

Song parodies are such an underappreciated genre, and I totally meant to reply to this in the first round. However, I'm going to submit an entry. In the interest of full disclosure, I posted a version of this nearly three years ago, but recently I went through it again and rewrote large portions of it and added an encore. It's about bad guys, and I love it, so even if you decide it shouldn't count I'm okay with it. I'm just happy to have an excuse to post the updated version.
