Morbius is awful. And those mid-credit scenes… Sony just ruins everything.

Also, I wonder how intentional this one line was...

Jared Harris: "What's your pain like today, on a scale of 1-10?"
    Matt Smith: "Eleven."

To be fair, it was originally supposed to be released before Spider-Man NWH came out.
So maybe they didn't factor in that what they did wouldn't make sense if it was released afterwards

Venom went back to his own time at the end of NWH, as did all the villains.

So why would Vulture be pulled from his timeline into the one with Venom & Morbius?
    Who did that?
    Because it wasn't Strange's spell

Well, it has something to do with Strange's spell- because Toombs knows Spider-man but seemingly not Parker (not outright stated but he seems fuzzy, just having a sense of it being related to Spider-Man). But since he did know about Peter before hand, that would explain why the spell targeted him (and, not, say Mac Gargan).

As for why it was reversed, well, they haven't said but they can make anything up that they want when next they address it in fuller detail. Maybe Toombs was already a multiverse traveler and they can use that to explain the SMH timeline error ;).

This article has some valid points, there are some agendas against some comic book movies.

But it also overlooks the fact that claims of studio buying tickets to make a movie look popular were also aimed at Captain Marvel which is from a popular franchise.

I don't agree with movies being trashed online by people who haven't seen them, but that's not new & has happened to numerous franchise movies.
Some extreme Zack Snyder fans have actively tried to discredit DC movies that he didn't direct.

The fact a bunch of the X-Men movies got hate is because they weren't very good.

The idea also that a comic book movie trying to do something different is going to be dismissed in advance because it's not made by Disney is also not true, Logan was a great solo character movie that was very well received & that was made by 20th Century.
Fans liked it because it was good

"The film is currently sitting at a harsh 15 percent on Rotten Tomatoes"

I have no doubt this is a ****** movie, but can it really be worse than The Bubble (24%)?

Well super hero movies, and Marvel super hero movies in particular have cultivated their reputation for aggressively planned mediocrity thats pretty resented even as it’s begrudgingly accepted. I have to imagine a genuinely straightforwardly bad film under the Marvel banner (even if it’s Sony) has a bunch of people who have been sharpening their metaphorical knives for a very long time yelling “FINALLY”.

I don't know, they have had a lot of good movies from top indie directors lately... it's still popcorn cinema, but it is very well done imho.

Most marvel movies under Marvel Studios get good reviews & very high audience ratings

I think those wanting to see Sony's efforts fail are those who want the Spider-Man rights taken back by Marvel Studios so they can make good use of the character as they have done since Civil War.

The last Fantastic Four movie seemed like it was made solely so 20th Century could retain the rights, rather than put effort in to make a good movie.

I feel like Sony are doing the same now, these movies are there to keep rights while they profit off Spider-Man (the good animated ones)

Without Kevin Feige involved Sony cant make any good movies, just let Feige handle everything and get out of his way please lol

Feige doesn't make the movies though, he just gets the talent and has a creative team to keep the overall vision on track

Sony seems not to have any of that.
Amy Pascal is a capable producer, but she's clearly not been able to acquire the right people

I was really surprised how likeable Arjona is. And the best thing is that she's going to be in Andor, too!

I don't think that's the case- they've been trying to do these spin-offs for a decade since ASM1/ASM2 when there was no danger of losing the rights and the MCU, as powerful as it had become after the Avengers, still hadn't reached the heights of influence and success that it would eventually.
