ST ST Silliness

I like hearing something positive about this from a person with military experience because this scene gave me trouble for seeming unrealistic. You've made it easier for me to like the scene.

 

Finn’s exasperated “you?!!!” upon Hux’s “I’m the spy!”. I think one of the most pure shocked realization reactions in cinema regardless of genre.

It's funny how demonstrative the characters are in the ST -- especially Finn.

"Reeeeeeey!!!"

I enjoy the brief silliness with Klaud at the start of TROS.

Finn anxiously trying to explain how he was saved from the last rathtar to Rey, and Rey's downplayed response: "That was lucky."

It's more a moment of camaraderie than silliness, but I like Han asking Finn after saving him from death (this poor guy needs saving a bit): "You okay, Big Deal?"

Kylo trying to "force" Rey to bring Luke to him in their first "Skype" moment, then withdrawing his hand, with an awkward, self-conscious look on his face. Adam Driver's eyebrow acting in that scene.

Luke hitting Rey with the reed and then casually tossing it over his shoulder like he did the legacy saber.

The torch/saber joke in the caverns on Pasaana. The actors nail it, along with the silly "spring" sound.

Rey and Poe arguing when Poe arrives back at the rebel base. Especially Rey's smug grin when she asks him what he did to the Falcon.

John Williams' cameo where he glares/shakes his head at Threepio as they pass into Babu Frik's workshop.

Luke's incredibly silly expression when he swings across the cliff and looks back at Rey with smug satisfaction.

Ben failing to completely duplicate his uncle's abilities after his big leap by landing on that enormous chain and going "Ow".

 

Maybe the silliest moment is when BB-8 uses all the coins inserted into him by the drunk casino patron as projectiles to subdue the prison guard.

 

Or Finn reacting to the opera singer. The film has a heavy moment or two with Rose's lecture to Finn and when they first arrive at the stables, but it really limbers up on Canto Bight, IMO.

 

How can you top “that’s not even a language!!!” ? That quote by the arresting storm trooper is Gold! Considering 3PO speaks more than 6 million forms of communication. Encapsulates the entire 9 chapter Saga.

I think it’s brilliant and silly at the same time.

The close-up on the laundry machine to make it look like a spaceship is silly.

This moment is probably the most out of place in terms of Johnson's humor.

 

Re-watched TFA last night for the first time in a long time; I forgot how hilarious Finn was.

" Oh yes, the resistance, I am in the resistance, this is what we look like, some look different."

 

Han’s sarcastic “ Tasu Leech. Good to see you“

It works so well. Irony is no one fell for it! Rotfl!

Oh, it feels very Space Balls but I still loved the gag.

 

Finn’s : Why are you ransacking your own ship?!”

I don’t know why but this line cracks me up. Finn maybe still learning about the other crooked things in the galaxy than the murderous F.O. vs the Resistance. He should know better and he does realize it just following It up immediately with “it’s not your ship”.

Finn still a kid maybe now mixing it up with the rest of the world. And DJ a kind of rogue teacher.

I liked when DJ asked them for money and Finn says, "Are you serious? Looks at us."

 

Finn, Rose, bb8, and dj are legitimately funny. I'm surprised people view that film as the weak one, because imo it is by far the best for him.

 

Finn getting caught in the middle of both Rose (a good influence the “angel” ) and DJ (arguably a bad influence And “devil” ) when Rose pulls off her medallion and flicks it over to DJ.

Humor with a lot in between (no pun intended)

I love how this exchange makes it clear that Threepio is aware of how annoying he is but just doesn't give a damn

I love the nurse listening to Chewbacca’s story as she’s bandaging his wounds. “You must have been really brave” like he’s a 4 year old lol.

 

Rey mastering the Force in TFA was silly...specially the moment where she mindtricks a guard

 

That was so sweet! And drew quite a few laughs in the cinema.

I liked when Rey first flew the Falcon.
"We need cover. Quick!"
"We're about to get some. I hope."
