CHAPTER NINE

Gordon wrapped his hands around the mug and inhaled the sweet aroma.His grey eyes closed and a low groan rumbled in his throat,a look of pure bliss coming over his handsome features.Opening his eyes he found his companion bent intently over his laptop computer,completely oblivious to him.Frowning,he subtly reached a hand out to grab it.

"Touch it and I make you the Orders first one armed Knight!"

Pulling back quickly,Gordon pouted.

"Come on Ji! You've had your head buried in that thing for hours.What are you doing anyway?" he asked curiously.

Deep sapphire eyes met his briefly before returning to the screen.

"What do you know about your parents Gor?" Jivan asked hesitantly.

The other boy's eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected question.

"My parents?" he asked numbly.

Jivan nodded, "Yeah the people who made you?What do you know about them?"

His friend shrugged and shifted uneasily.

"Nothing," he finally admitted.

"Haven't you ever wondered about them? Who they are,where they are,why did they give you to the Jedi?" Jivan asked.

Gordon frowned and eyed his friend worriedly.

"The Jedi are our family.Why would I wonder about people I don't even know?" he quiered.

When his friend merely returned to his computer without answering,Gordon felt a chill go down his spine.

"Is that what you've been up to Ji? Are you trying to find out who your parents are?" he demanded.

Quilt flooded the sapphire eyes,causing him to curse as he leaned forward.

"Why? You're going to be a Jedi Knight one day.What purpose does it serve to know?" he asked.

Shrugging,Jivan punched at the keys listlessly.

"I'm just curious," he replied softly.

"And what does Master Obi-Wan think about this?" Gordon asked.

Shutting the lid on the computer,Jivan sighed deeply.

"I haven't told him," he admitted reluctantly.

Whistling under his breath,Gordon sat back and studied his friend.

"Have you ever considered that you're better off not knowing anything about them? I mean, what if they turn out to be horrible people?" he asked gently.

Jivan chewed on his bottom lip as he contemplated that thought.A shadow fell over their table and looking up,they found a huge figure grinning down at them.

"Baby Jedi's! Did you manage to escape from your keepers again?" Dex chuckled.

Gordon laughed,while Jivan looked down at the table top and shifted uncomfortably.

"Our Masters are at some boring meeting,"Gordon shared.

Dex's eyes settled intently on the black haired boy.

"I heard Skywalker was injured baby Kenobi,"he commented.

Nodding,Jivan glanced up quickly with a faint smile.

"He was but he's going to be fine," he assured the diner owner.

"Excellant!" Dex exclaimed."You boy's tell your Masters hello for me."

The boy's nodded as the alien moved back toward the kitchen.Gordon turned a curious look on his friend.

"Why are you so uneasy around him?" he asked.

Shrugging,Jivan gathered his computer and other items together.

"I don't know.He just looks at me strange and it makes me uncomfortable,"he explained before standing up.

"I need to get back to the Temple and check on Ani," he told his friend.

As the boys exited his diner,Dex stared after them with a troubled expression on his face.

"Who does Obi-Wan think he's fooling?" he said under his breath.

Huh? So do most people have an instictive mistrust in Xanitot or is Dex superimposing Xanatos on Jivan or is their a darkness in Jivan that Obi can't or won't see?

poor xanitot - everyone is expecting him to be like his father. they forget he was raised by Luminara and then Obi-Wan, not Buckethead.

 

JKH Dex knew Xan so I imagine he is just wondering how Obi expects to slip Jivan past people since he resembles his father so much.

I'm going to venture an opinion on this....

I think Dex sees the similarities between Xan and Jivan in terms of their recklessness...

I think Dex doubts that he can keep Jivan on the path of Light because Xan is his father...

Anyway, that's just me....

Great work, obi-ew, Jivan's characterization is coming along so well!!

I love it!!

 

It is obviously not going to be long until Jivan figures out the truth of his parentage. Not only is he looking into it himself but since he resembles Xan so much it is only a matter of time before someone less discreet figures it out and spills the beans. Being a Jedi and having a Sith for a father is not going to be easy. Poor Jivan.

 

So Dex thinks Jivan will turn out like Xanatos. I'll bet he's not the only one.

 

Jivan is made uneasy by Dex?

That's weird. ?

 

I wonder why Javin is so uneasy around Dex..

Loved the chapter though obi_ew...I cant wait to read more..

Just to clarify things since I seemed to have muddied the waters for some of you.Dex knew Xan and knew he wasn't a very nice person.Jivan is a dead ringer for his father looks wise.Dex is just trying to figure out how Obi thinks he can keep the boys paternity a secret for very long.Eventually someone who knew Xan would comment on the resemblance. Kapeesh? Yikes! almost forgot! Jivan is aware that Dex stares at him strangley thus he is uncomfortable around him. * wanders off muttering about authors's who can't write coherent posts*

 

Post was coherent- JKH is just a dumb bird.

 

CHAPTER TEN

Bant eyed her young patient worriedly.

"Are you certain you want to try this allready?" she asked.

Anakin leaned back,bracing his weight on his hands as he nodded.

"I need to get back on my feet as soon as possible,"he told her.

Seeing the unwavering determination on his handsome face,she sighed and grasped his muscular thigh and calf in her finned hands.Slowly she began to bend his leg at the knee,her eyes studying his face closely the entire time.

The limb had only moved a few inches before his sunbrowned face paled and sweat broke out on his forehead and stubbled cheeks.When he caught his lower lip between his teeth to smother a pained cry,she began to talk quietly.

"Do you know how much money I could make if I sold tickets to this?" she inquired pleasantly.

Gasping,he eyed her in confusion.Smiling slightly at the knowledge that her plan was working and he was distracted from the pain,she explained as she moved his leg a little more.

"The legendary Skywalker wearing nothing but a pair of skimpy shorts and a sheen of sweat,moaning in agony?" she mused as she shook her head. "The masses would be lined up for blocks."

Anakin opened his mouth to retort,but instead gave a strangled cry as she bent his leg even further.His trembling arms gave out and he fell back,his chest heaving with each shuddering breath.

Setting his leg down gently,Bant placed a hand against his sweaty brow and began to channel healing energy into his body.She gasped in surprise when a strong hand caught ahold of her hand and pulled it away.Frowning,she studied him in confusion.

"Why won't you let me help you with the pain?" she asked.

He pressed her finned hand against his broad chest,and covered it with his own.

"I don't want to ever forget this pain," he told her.

More then a little unsettled by his words,she turned as the door slid open.Her face broke into a gentle smile as Jivan swept into the room with barely contained youthful energy.Coming to stand beside her,he ran a critical gaze over the young knight's body.

"Geez Ani,have you put on a few extra pounds recently?" he asked innocently.

Bant gasped as Anakin suddenly lunged past her in an attempt to grab the boy.Jivan quickly danced away until he stood well out of range.

"Come here you little runt and I'll show you just how out of shape I am!" Anakin growled.

Grinning madly,Jivan sent Bant a quick wink.

"You know Master Bant,I'm starting to become very worried,"he confided.

Playing along just as she always did,Bant eyed him curiously.

"About what Jivan?" she asked.

"Well,he never had that much personality before the attack,but ever since he fell on his head,what little he did have seems to have vanished," he told her.

Anakin's answering glare slowly faded and his face became tranquail.Reaching out a hand he waved it in Jivan's direction.

"Runt,come here," he ordered in a deep compelling voice.

Bant threw the young knight a warning look as the boy's sapphire eyes turned glassy and he took several hesitant steps forward.Ignoring her,Anakin smiled as Jivan slowly moved closer.

"That's a good boy.Come closer," he urged.

Anakin waited until his young friend was in reach before making a grab for him.Right before his hands could close around the boy's arms,Jivan suddenly sprang back and laughed loudly.

"Hah! You fall for it every time!" he exclaimed.

Hissing in frustration,Anakin fell back on the bed.

"Hell runt,you're not supposed to be able to resist!"he muttered.

Bant sighed heavily as she glanced between them.

"Do you two ever stop? I don't know how Obi-Wan has managed to remain sane,"she scolded them.

As they shared a knowing smirk,the door opened again and a young initiate entered.Her gaze immediately targeted Jivan.

"Forgive me for interrupting Master Eerin,but Padawan Jivan is wanted by the Council," she explained in a slightly unsteady voice.

Bant and Anakin smiled as the girl gazed at the young man with open adoration written on her face.Jivan started from the roo

 

Bant is always around the best looking Jedi.



Obvious question, but why not ask it? Why is the Council calling Jivan? Not for good things, probably.

 

I'd pay to see him in pain, but I'd rather have Obi in the skimpy shorts. I mean Please put your clothes back on Now!

Why do I feel that that can't be good. I wonder if he's done anything naughty or pulled any pranks lately...

 

It would've been sooo funny if Obi-Wan was there to see that! But if he was there he probably would've smacked Ani upside the head for not letting Bant help with the pain! Then again, Ani might not have stopped the healing process if Obi-Wan was doing it because he would've known that Obi-Wan would twist his ear! UP!

 

"I don't want to ever forget this pain," he told her.

Now that doesn't sound good. What is Anakin thinking? Remember oe, this is the only Anakin I have ever liked so I hope he doesn't go off all hopped up for revenge and turn to the Darkside. ?

Loved the banter between Jivan and Anakin.

And Ani is trying so hard to get back to normal...
