even though its not live action, Sloane is more or less accounted for being brought to life thanks to Squadrons.

 

I disagree with this. The whole thing about Vanth was that maybe he's wearing Boba Fett's armor. I mean, there's a million old stories where anyone wearing Mandalorian armor (or "beskar" as the kids are calling it these days) gets mistaken for Boba Fett whether or not their armor even looks like his. They could've easily ignored Cobb Vanth and it wouldn't have been any sort of continuity issue. Then the people who read Aftermath could easily say "well, I guess it wasn't Fett's armor after all."

 

Oh, you're right, they could have dumped that lore, and at the time it happened I'm sure I was one of many wondering if and to what degree they would honor that little story point. I'm talking with hindsight here, with Vanth being the first of a big bunch of signposts in Mando S2 that the greater continuity was way more in play than we might have guessed.

To put it another way, before Mando S2, if you'd asked me the odds of whether it would ever talk about, say, Operation Cinder, I would've put them low to middling. But by the time it *was* referenced, I was completely unsurprised.

I liked issue #12 if only because after 12 issues it was fun to see Han again and him being casually noble about saving everyone.Also I like how Poe's mom is finding a place to hide on a Star Destroyer, we're always told about how they're big mobile cities, finding a hiding spot to lay low for an extended period of time shouldn't be impossible.

 

Conflicted Vader between ESB and RTJ is arguably Vader at his most interesting and I'm amazed we've had nothing about him in that time period

 

We've got his 2020 comic series for that.

 

I really hope they show the Rebels rescuing Shara or Shara escaping. I don't want to see her back without explanation.

I found the issue boring. I'll keep getting the title but not one of the best issues.

Holdo makes a cameo

It's just one of those small things I like to see, really tie in ST with the OT ...You know, bridge the gap...make it all feel like one universe

That sorta thing.

 

Maybe the comic can reconcile the versions of that character.

Of course, be nice if Marvel starting issuing SW OHCs again.

Holdo has been working with the syndicates to gain supply chains for the Rebellion.

Chewie doesn't like the sound of Crimson Dawn being back. Lando reminisces about L3 and mentions Dryden, as well as the suggestion that there was somebody above him.

The talky droid is sent off to Jabba...I wonder if that's supposed to imply he's the "last interpreter" EV-9D9 mentions in ROTJ.

A little Black Sun action. Between that and the team-up of Leia, Lando, Chewie, and C-3PO in the Falcon, I got a minor Shadows of the Empire vibe for a sec.

 

Love seeing the comics really take advantage of all three era's being done.

 

Anyone else missing Shara Bey? How long has she been on that Star Destroyer?

IIRC, in this issue there are first pictured Black Sun's ships in canon after Gozanti from TCW.

 

Nowhere even slightly close to six months. A handful of days, maybe a week or two at absolute maximum. In the absence of a clear timeline, it's best to be conservative - no need to assume a time jump until there's evidence of one.

 

Timeline? Marvel Comics? You do know their track record here?

I'm really not a fan of this comic's interpretation of Lando. I greatly prefer the original 80s comics where he spent the post-ESB period with Chewie selflessly searching for Han and not this comic where he's deceiving the Rebels and spying for Jabba.
