Didn't see this mentioned but there is a Ojibwe dub of A New Hope that was released in select theatres in Canada in August. It will be on Disney Plus Canada on October 27th. And the first link I posted above is to the ATPN network AND it'll be airing this Sunday (Canadian Thanksgiving weekend) at 9pm and 12 am on ATPN channel. So I am definitely watching ( I'm pretty sure the Ojibwe dub is going to be commercial free). Can definitely watch, I don't even need subtitles at this point. This is a Canadian cultural heritage initiative I can get behind!

The project brought together a wide range of talent and multigenerational Anishinaabe speakers to bring this version to life. The dubbing was done over a 10-day period in early May in Winnipeg with the final mix completed at Skywalker Sound. The project is supported in part by the Government of Canada through the Indigenous Languages and Cultures Program from Canadian Heritage. Dougald Lamont helped launch this project in 2021 after proposing it to Pablo Hidalgo, a former Winnipegger and Lucasfilm executive as a language revitalization project in support of reconciliation.

Watching right now, (there are some ads though) definitely a solid mix, Threepio sounds like Threepio, Vader sounds like Vader, the Stormtroopers sound like Stormtroopers. Some words are still the same, mostly names like Darth Vader, R2D2 and places like Empire and Imperial Senate, Sir. It has subtitles but I don't need them. 4k version so Maclunky is still there

makes you wonder just how many versions of SW there are, in terms of languages, subtitles, signing etc.
