Wow. Of all the new stuff announced (aside from TCW of course) this one has captured my interest the most. I am so hype. Giving me Lair of General Grievous vibes, only hopefully even better!

EYYYYY A STAR WARS HORROR SERIES!

I really hope IDW becomes the go-to for weirder off the beaten path ideas and concepts. An entire set of Halloween comics set in the universe sounds fantastic.

That artwork is almost psychedelic! Very well done. I'm excited for this for sure.

I knew that was Crater from Adventures in Wild Space! Interesting then two Rebellion excursions to Mustafa with the Secrets of the Empire VR .

I hope there is a crossover here!

Good premise, and I like where their head is at. It reminds me a lot of the old DC House of Mystery comics. If they actually do have a vampiric Dooku story, that would be wonderful.

This looks like a lot of fun. Between this and the next season of stranger things, Halloween is going to be a good time.

If Lina Graf is in these comics and CR8ter is on one of the variant covers, I'm going to guess Milo will be the pilot of the ship that inevitable saves everyone at the end of the series.

Looks great! Although I’ll have to wait until next year when the TPB releases. I don’t do single issues, but get the TPBs for easier reading and collecting.

This is the first time in ever that Star Wars has done a month-long Halloween theme. Tales from Darth Vader’s creepy castle. It’s perfect.

I don't know why but this seems a lot more mature "mainstream" than the child friendly Adventures series (I read the first 6 issues through tpb- I was not impressed)

So, the first issue was released today! A few notes of interest. (Warning: heavily spoilery)
    • This is actually a double frame tale: Lina Graf, Head Curator of the Graf Archive, recounts how she once told a story to her crew when she was still a Commander in the Alliance.
    • As we already knew, Lina is an Army Commander in the Alliance. Although no nomenclature is given, her ship (the Auric, after her father) is very obviously an YT-1760 small transport.
    • The Hoopaloo, sentient avians who first appeared in Cavan Scott's Choose Your Destiny: A Han & Chewie Adventure, are depicted for the first time, in the person of a Rebel informant named Graysom.
    • After the incident with Maul on Tatooine, Kanan's holocron was left empty.
    • Graysom, Kanan and Hera cross paths with a technopathic, decorporalized entity that claims to have been a powerful darksider, and that the Jedi stripped them of their body many centuries ago. The entity manages to possess Chopper for a time, but Hera tricks it into entering the empty holocron, where it becomes trapped and powerless. The entity reminds me of Eternal Rur from the Doctor Aphra series, except that it claims to be an actual spirit deprived of its body, when Eternal Rur was an AI.

This issue happens well before "Twin Suns" (note Kanan's fully-functioning eyes and season 1-2-style facial hair). Which means that's not Kanan's holocron - supported also by the fact that Kanan's holocron is one of the cube-shaped types while the one seen here is one of the dodecahedron types. Strange that it's not mentioned even in passing whose it is or where he might have gotten it, but it's definitely not his.
