Of course and hopefully they do, but I think it's important for people to be aware of what's going on. Especially for cosplayers. I'd hate for someone to invest a lot of money into making an elaborate cosplay that ultimately ends up being banned from the event. People should wait for the policy to actually change before making any financial commitment like that.

I was going to utilize a JarJar Mask with my Jedi Costume, but of need be, its something I can leave at home...

A Jar-jar mask would be fun, for a bit, but it could get hot in there! If terrible restrictions are to be resumed, cancel the con.-again...

Like having to wrap ourselves in medical grade plastic and use a self contained breathing apparatus in order to attend the most popular panels.

Got to keep those actors safe, you know?

 

Right now, this is adopted on county by county basis. There are no rules for indoor masks in SB area, even on UC university campuses that kept having much firmer restrictions than the rest of the state.

As long as cases and variants don't get worse, I don't think restrictions will be back. But people need to take some responsibility and get vaccinated.

 

It will be nice to see UCSB getting closer to normal in person instruction this fall

 

Terrible restrictions such as masks-all the time, distancing all the time, temperature taking everywhere etc. and as Motivate said, wrapping ourselves in medical grade plastic-environmental suits, a costume of it's own! scary, very scary. you can't run a convention doing that.

 

This isn't happening.

I can't call mask wearing - a measure that has literally saved lives - "terrible". Hopefully we'll be completely past all of this in May, but if we have to wear masks it's not that big of a deal except for limiting some cosplay options. People will adjust if need be.

 

In some positive news, it's great to see that Black Widow put up strong numbers this weekend. It's been a rough year for theaters, but it looks like they can bounce back.

I will be attending GalaxyCon in Raleigh NC in the end of this month, and from what I can see, there seems to be no restrictions on Cosplay. Can't wait to see the amazing costumes people come up with....

NYCC, ECCC and C2E2 are the ones to keep an eye on.

 

I'll tell you what. This past weekend really felt like pre-pandemic work. We were crazy busy and so many people came in to see Black Widow and Fast 9 was still pretty strong at my theater. Very positive stuff.

 

Awesome. I was thinking of you when I left my BW screening.

 

Excited for Black Widow. Drive-in was ok to see things on the big screen, but definitely looking forward to the awesome cinema sound.

If Two Tubes can wear two tubes for a decade, we can wear a mask during one con.
