I mean, in a way, they're trailers for the movies.
Sure they exist. The bigger episodes are called the Star Wars movies.
There good though and they are fun. It makes really wonder why don't they just invest in a kiddie series like this? This is what some have been waiting for anyway. Not everything has to be a super canon thing. I like them a lot and hopefully they can animate the prequels and the sequel stuff. You can kill me later, but I can't wait to see Leia flying in space. That definitely will get some animated short in there.
Problem is, my understanding is that it takes Titmouse (the studio producing this) a whole year to create 30 minutes of this kind of 2D hand hand drawn animation.
Oh wow, I did not know that
No knew episodes this week?
There's this one, though it's just a compilation of previous shorts-
These shorts work really well for me when they're combined together.
It would be nice to have compilations like this for the other major characters as well eventually. Especially for Han and Leia.
Seems a little premature to release that when we haven't even gotten Vader vs Luke yet...
I agree, that was the best one and its been withheld. That is the stuff that sometimes I don’t get when it comes to Star Wars.
both the luke and vader ones were compilations with no new content?
Yeah this was released on the Disney youtube site and not on the star wars kids youtube site. Still missing is the lighstaber special that goes with the video. Hopefully they'll put that up soon with a new batch of the animation. Good to see this one finally available though.
I've only seen the Luke vs Vader fight in Empire, and it feels like a mix of CW (2003 microseries), the War Wars films, and an anime. Don't know much about it, but I like it.
They finally have the Luke vs. Vader (Join Me) short at the star wars kids youtube site. So that is 12 videos, counting 13 if you add the trailer to the first batch with 6 Fun Facts videos. Can't wait for the next batch of shorts to come out. Clearly, the lightsaber fight was the best one of the bunch so far. I hope that Joe Books decides to do adaptions of this stuff like there doing with Forces of Destiny. The first two volumes will cover season 1, 16 epoxides, 8 episodes each book.
Luke vs Vader did feel a bit like the CW (2003 micro-series), in that both of their displays of Force ability and lightsaber combat were exaggerated. I must admit though, I like these shorts better than the Resistance series...
Saw the first few initially, and now binging on 'em...
I think they're outstanding, personally.
Love everything they're doing with this series.
They do, but man the formula works. I love the micro series and consider it some of the best star wars animation, along with these shorts. Don't care too much for Forces of Destiny, and yes, forget about Resistance. I can't stomach the show. I'd rather watch Roger and the star wars lego over and over than watch 5 minutes of Resistance. Too me that's bad star wars there.
Wow, this one is Awesome..
It is. I wish the narrator didn't cut in during the buildup to the fight though.
Agreed. A million times better than the scene it’s based on.
