How odd. It seems to be Nik Sant in the briefing room (his beard looks bigger, and no clone armour), but Rex has taken Nik's place at the shield bunker. Seems like they're trying to reconcile Nik with Dave's comments about Rex, but I think this has just confused things even further.

I think it's very odd that we don't see Rex reaching out to Luke after ANH, and also poking holes in Obi-Wan's story to Luke.

Rex: General Skywalker was killed by a student of General Kenobi's called Darth Vader? First of all, Darth is a title, I fought a former Darth at the Siege of Mandalore. Also, General Kenobi never had any other student that I saw other than your father. How do you even exist anyway? Everyone knows Jedi can't get married.

That's kinda why they can't really be hanging out together. The story is the story, so off Rex has to go on other, non-Luke missions.

 

Nik Sant is white, Rex/Jango/etc aren't. It's as simple as that.

 

I know these are pretty silly pointless things, but I love the animation.

Well he's far more successful in that short video than he's been in the entire new continuity. He got like. A Twi'lek. Instead of his whiny butt handed to him again.

(I really really really want the new EU to have this thing where Boba Fett sucks so bad and IG-88 is a kickassing god)

 

It is kinda interesting how they essentially went the exact opposite direction with Boba in the NuCanon, were he isn't this awesome B.A character and in the NuCanon...he's kinda nothing.

 

Fett's not doing nearly that bad in new canon - he's currently sporting a 50% success rate across the two stories he's shown up in so far (not counting the films and TCW). That's better than how IG-88 is doing by a significant margin.

 

I wanna like this post and this video more times than once, mods fix this please. This video is awesome

I actually wouldn't want come across an Ewok. They may look like cute teddy bears but then you might end up as either their next meal or a musical instrument.

The tone on these shorts shifts often from asinine comical to pretty serious They also make often small to very big changes to the actual films. Mimban Stormtroopers just became Mudtroopers guarding Chewie and Han for example.

More seriously, these are just for entertainment obviously, often aimed for kids. The Nik Sant character is very obscure anyway, while I don't think many would necessarily lose sleep over it. However Nik Sant predated Rex in the Star Wars Universe and for many of us he's still kinda important, they should honor that fictional character's service,lol. Well honor the actors playing Jango/Boba/Clone and 'ol Nik. Maybe in some stories(episodes) are being told by a senile or drunk storyteller in-universe.
