Lit Star Wars Insider #197

Anyone have any idea when Insider 197 is supposed to come out(I'm talking in stores as opposed to subscribers). I realize that it got delayed from it's original release due to the pandemic(it was orginally supposed to come out in May), juyst wondering of anyone knows anything about it.

Yeah, I subscribe in the UK and got an email about delays awhile back with dates for four magazines:

Star Wars Insider: Last issue mailed #196 (April) Next Issue: #197 (on sale August 27)
Star Trek Magazine: Last issue mailed #202 (April) Next Issue: #203 (on sale August 27)
Simpsons Comic: Last issue mailed #32 (March) Next Issue: #33 (on sale July 3)
Doctor Who Tales from the Tardis: Last issue mailed #3.3 (March) Next Issue: #3.4 (on sale July 3)

US dates may differ.

 

Those dates my not be accurate anymore as I've seen places like Here and Here that say September 29 or 30 for Insider 197.

 

Just got this in an email from Titan: "Hello - We apologize for the delays. Due to COVID-19, we needed to move on our entire publishing schedule. Issue 197 is printing now and will be on sale Sept. 22. Issue 198 and 199 go on sale Nov. 3 and Dec. 8, respectively. Be assured that you will receive all of the issues you signed up for. ".

 

Plenty of other magazines seem to have managed to keep up regular publishing during the pandemic. Why has Titan been so badly affected with long delays?

 

I haven't gotten issue 197 here in the UK yet. Has anyone in the US seen it? Maybe their distributor is the problem. When the pandemic started a lot of comics couldn't be gotten because the distributor (Diamond, I think) pretty much shut down.

Edit - I get my copy by subscription.

 

I got issue 197 last week in forbidden planet lovely black and white vader cover to !

that's why i gave up getting them through subscription it was always a pain seeing issues in shops days/weeks before id get them and that's also if it did not get lost in the post which was always put right by them no questions asked it was just more of a wait to get it in my hands. but that was my experience and luck though.

 

Unfortunately the local WH Smiths stopped selling them last year so I had no choice but subscription. They were the only place in town that had the magazine.

 

Yeah i understand i had to pester my FP to get it for me not sure why though !

 

Yes, I've not seen a SINGLE copy of Insider in WH Smiths, in over a year, to my recollection, and apparently it isn't stocked there anymore... except perhaps by request?

 

Note for UK subscribers - post lady brought my issue today.
