Eee! I can't wait! I just bought the Galactic Map (#65 I'm assuming) issue, and it's awesome.

I used to have a subscription, but I never renewed it when it ran out. I plan on it now!

Well there are 13-15 grand admirals to cover.

12 of 13 of the old ones that have previously been named, and Pelleaon the new kind of grand admiral(or false grand admiral depending on oppinion).

One wonders if it will cover the false grand admiral warlord mentioned in Planet of Twilight?

I believe Abel Pena is writing the GA article. I believe it was originally submitted to Gamer.

Well I hope that if it only covers the main 13 list, that he gets the names right. Zaarin as grand admiral continuity refrence has only been mentioned in one source as far as I remember. Hopefully he adds to that.

You can count on Abel. I'd say he's perhaps the best continuity guy I can think of. An SWFA member also ;-)

That is true. But what I've been seeing going on in WOTC(...and other places) lately can't be entirely sure. Things just aren't the same as they used to be.

    Imperial Grand Admirals!

Someone steal it for me, okay? There's got to be some Sydney newsagents who have them.

Cool! The Aayla story looks to include a Caamasi Jedi, too!

    Sounds like a great issue!

Are the Holonet News articles reprints, or new material?

The Holonet News in issue #65 was new, and I assume the rest will be as well. It was set 3/4 of a year after AOTC and featured one page of news from the Republic and 1 page of news from the Seperatists.

Abel did the great Emperor's Hand article, right? Then I have great faith that the Grand Admiral article will be top notch.

The new fiction looks cool. Stackpole writing about Aayla? What could be better?

And the Holonet News is indeed new, chronicling the Clone Wars from both sides. There is a page from the offical Republic news sources, and then a page of underground holonet articles published by the CIS. Good stuff, I mean because you can't totally trust either source. The Republic is being run by Palaptine and the Empire is slowly showing it's face, what with how they shut down the news for awhile when the War first started. And then the CIS is just a front in the first place, and it's using massive propaganda. Still really nice.

Yeah. But it's a return to the saga for Stackpole as well, like him or not.

And it looks like the "cover" image is by Dureesma.

Wrong place to ask this, but how do we know Thrawn was the "13th" Grand Admiral? Dark Force Rising says he was one of the Twelve, and The Last Command says the last of the Grand Admirals died.

Essential Chronology has a heading that says, "The 13th grand admiral", and that he replaced Zaarin IIRC.

In secret the Emperor appointed Thrawn to replace Zaarin after he failed to usurp control of the Empire. The story is told in the TIE Fighter PC game.

Though it's relevant to point out that in that story Zaarin wasn't called a Grand Admiral(though it was implied by his uniform) but just an Admiral, and it didn't say that Grand Admiral thrawn was appointed to replace him as Grand Admiral, but merely that he was promoted to Grand Admiral to track Zaarin down.

The fact that he was grand admiral, and that Thrawn was to replace him, is a retro-active continuity link made by Essential Chronology, and one that I rather like.

Yeah. Don't forget, though, that Thrawn was secretly made a Grand Admiral not long before TESB, making him a 13th Grand Admiral for a while, until Zaarin was out of the way.

Yes, Thrawn was officially made the 12th Grand Admiral.
