Three things happen at the beginning and at the end of THE Saga (i.e. TPM & ROTJ) that do not happen in any of the other Episodes.

    1. Jedi defeat Sith in a lightsaber fight: in Eps II-V either Vader or Dooku win. Sure, Yoda sort of defeats Dooku, and Dooku will probably die by saber in Ep3, but those instances do not occur simultaneously with the other two points. The point is the Light Side triumphs over the Dark Side.

    2. The ?Common Man? joins the battle: it is Anakin Skywalker, some kid from Tatooine that joins the fray and destroys the droid control ship, turning the tide of the battle. Also, Lando Calrissian, a businessman who just wants to administrate Cloud City ends up killing the second Death Star. The point is that neither of these individuals were soldiers; the common man rose up and said, ?I?ve had enough!?

    3. Alien races cooperate with each other: when the Gungans volunteered their people to help free Naboo it provided the support needed to win back that planet, and the Ewoks outnumbered the Storm Troopers and put up a fight after C-3PO told them all about the Empire. The point is? united we stand, divided we fall.

When these three things happen in TPM the future Emperor realizes that he needs to change his plans if he wants to conquer the galaxy. In the subsequent Episodes Palpatine acquires more adept apprentices, uses fear to quell the common men and women so they won?t rebel, and divides races from each other by working to dissolve the Galactic Senate and instead creating the localized governments we hear about from the OT that probably do not communicate extensively with each other.

In ROTJ these three things happen simultaneously again and the Empire is defeated; the galaxy gets back on track. Several instances, like Han Solo (read: common man) helping to destroy the first Death Star, are part of the winning formula, but keep in mind that when Han joined the fight the Light Side had not triumphed over the Dark Side in a lightsaber battle, and no ?Yavinese? people were assisting the Rebels. All three have to happen at the same time.

Star Wars is one big fable :D: keep the Light Side in your heart and mind; stand up for what you believe in, even if you?re not a soldier; appreciate people that are different than you, these differences can be advantages if combined with your abilities.

    HaHa
