Had a quick look around to see if we already had a dedicated thread for this line, but couldn't find one. If that's me being dumb, then please lock this. But I'm wondering if anybody else is a collector of the Micro Galaxy Squadron series by Jazwares? It's basically a revival of the old Action Fleet vehicles and playsets from the late 90s (although currently seems to be focused on vehicles only). Very nostalgic in many ways, but also benefits from modern production processes to enhance accuracy and detail. Apparently it's been doing really well, too. I didn't think it'd last, but they're bringing out more and more waves with a solid mix of stuff from all movies and shows, old and new. I only have four (so far, pending shelf space). Boba Fett's Firespray from The Book of Boba Fett, the Havoc Marauder from The Bad Batch, and then the Gungan Bongo and Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator from The Phantom Menace. I got those last two because I could never find their Action Fleet equivalents when I was a kid. They're still boxed, but I have the other two out on display. I think they're really neat!
I bought some for my kid a couple years ago, they are really cool. He's already destroyed them. I don't personally have space for them in my own collection.
Ah yes, I've actually been grabbing some of these ships since Christmas. I've also got the Marauder, as well as a U-Wing, V-Wing, Mando's Naboo fighter, and Ventress' ship: They're very nice models, lots of detail, though the larger ones can be a little unwieldy, when the U-Wing has its wings folded back it has an insanely large width (still cool though). I appreciate that they've branched out into some rarer ships from the tv shows that haven't previously had easily available toys. I've been trying to find an OT X-wing (as opposed to the ST design), but for some reason those are way more expensive than most other ships in the range.
That just means he really liked 'em! Nice haul (oh, and your Shadow Squishmallow is adorable, too). Mando's N-1 looks excellent, which I'm pleased to see 'cause that's on my own wishlist. It's interesting to see how big they're prepared to go with some of the ships, though. You're right, the U-Wing is a beast (especially for such a relatively obscure ship design). Have you seen their take on the Ghost...?! It's the size of a small table, and comes with two Y-Wings!! Hope you find an original X-Wing soon. We don't tend to get great stock in brick-and-mortar stores over here, but if I see any online, I'll send you a heads-up. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to un-boxing mine. Am gonna try and make space to put it alongside some of my older Action Fleet stuff from the 90s. Most of it is from The Phantom Menace and focused on Naboo, so it'll hopefully go well together.
I mostly just have The Vintage Collection stuff, and those vehicles are massive because the hold 3.75 scale figures. But, due to the nature of things like Haslab and the massive cost of something like The Razor Crest, I have not acquired those vehicles. In that regard these Micro Galaxy Squadron ships are nice to keep and display and make-up for what I couldn't get and save space. What I would like to see is more Podracers. Hasbro only ever released Anakin & Sebulba's pods in 3.75 size but I have the figures of most of the other racers. It would be nice to display each alongside his pod if MGS does them at some point.
I'm hoping that the MGS podracers sell well enough for them to continue filling out the grid. I was genuinely surprised to see the Sebulba / Dud Bolt / Gasgano triple pack being an actual thing. It's a shame they make you double-dip on Sebulba, but it's still neat. No idea how they'd do Ben Quadinaros, though!
