You address the four-armed being. "It's ok, we're an unannounced inspection team. Please continue your work and we will just observe." (-1 Influence)

"Ha!" He lets out a boisterous laugh. "Ha ha!" It seems he immediately called your bluff. "It's okay," he says, "I'm here without an invite as well." He takes the strap off his shoulder and places his tool pack on the floor. Then, he offers his lower left hand for a shake. "Dathis Kamiah. Pleased to meet you," he says. When you don't shake his hand, he goes on. "I'm a fisherman, or what some might call a 'gemdiver'. I couldn't resist L-19... the security's practically non-existent." You're unfamiliar with his species. He walks over to the middle pile.

You start searching the northernmost pile for droid parts. Lerona finds some silver plating and you discover a telescoping neck joint. (+1 Luck)
Due to your +2 luck rating, you find more in the middle pile:
Lerona discovers a memory bank and scanning sensors. You find a standard vocabulator. Your new 'pal' is still looking through the same pile. He throws a shield generator over his shoulder.
Pile #3:
Lerona has found a slicer. You have discovered an electric pike and treads.

A hollow voice says 'fool'.

"Lerona, empty out that container over there and throw in all our droid parts and that Gentes butter." The conveyor belt starts up and an Ugnaught enters from the furnace room. He's short and stocky, with a muscular build. He wears a tan apron, large gloves, and a belt with pouch.

"Sure thing boss," Lerona says. She grabs a medium-sized container and throws all your droid parts inside. Then, she adds the butter.

The Ugnaught grabs the shield generator thrown by Dathis. He places it on the conveyor belt.

You apologize to Dathis. (Alignment: light side, +5) "Sorry, I have no idea what that sound was. I'm Aeryn and this is Lerona. We need to acquire a corusca gem. Can you help us?" The Ugnaught heads over to pile #1.

"I didn't hear anything," Dathis explains. "Anyway... Aeryn. Lerona." He performs a quick bow. "So you're gemdivers too? I haven't had much luck yet. Can't find a tether, so I'm tryin' to get to L-20 using beldon bait. It's only 200 feet off the east platform, but you can't land there. The security's tight for some reason. Rumor has it that the good stuff's over there." (Blackhole E Snoke scores 1 point) The Ugnaught throws some junk on the conveyor belt.

Those items are already in the container. The shield generator disappears into the furnace room. The Ugnaught heads for pile #2.

"We're looking for a purple Corusca gem," you explain to Dathis. (Guile Unlocked, L1) "Will we have to become fishers too?"

"Purple? Those are pretty rare. Good luck," he says. "Well, you won't have to do the actual fishing if we find the right machinery and a tether." The Ugnaught returns to the conveyor with a droid chassis and E-11 blaster rifle.

 

Did the mission specifically say we need a purple gem, or are we just pretending to be slightly more clueless than we actually are?

@Blue Ice Cream . OhI though you meant Dathis threw the shield generator over his shoulder as in to carry it. Can we get it back before it goes into the furnace? Our droid could use it.

The stocky Ugnaught places the chassis and rifle on the conveyor belt. "Dathis could be useful," you whisper to Lerona Zholt. "I think we should team up with him, at least temporarily." Lerona nods in agreement.

Another short Ugnaught enters from the south. He's steadying a jumbo-sized bolt wrench against the floor with his right hand. His tan apron is bulky. You turn to four-armed Dathis. "I think we might have a little more luck if we all worked together. What do you say?"

"Ha!" he chortles. The large sac hanging from his wide mouth vibrates. "Ha ha! Have you ever known a Besalisk to turn down an alliance?" His brawny arms extend toward your hand. "Sure thing! Let's fish for gems." {Which hand do you shake?} (Cowgirl Jedi 1701 scores 1 point)

You put the chassis and E-11 in the container. "Dathis can you understand the Ugnaughts?"

"No," he answers, "but I ran into one that speaks Basic."

You run NW into the furnace room.

Furnace Room
It's darker in here. The scant light comes from the furnace itself. The fire waits for items to arrive from the conveyor belt. You swipe the shield generator just before it falls into the furnace. (Speed Unlocked, L1) Exits: SE, S.

A pile of random junk falls off the conveyor belt and into the furnace. You leave the dimly-lit room to the southeast.

Junk Room
Dathis and two Ugnaughts are here. "Sorry Dathis, we could need this," you say, putting the shield generator into the container. You shake his lower right hand. (Light Side, +6) "Let's fish, but first we need to get these droid parts back to our ship." The pair of Ugnaughts search through the piles of junk. "Lerona," you say, "would you help carry this container back to the ship?"

"Sure thing Aeryn." She complies, and the three of you lift the container. Eight arms are quite sufficient. One of the Ugnaughts approaches.

Southwest does NOT lead to your ship, but you've seen enough to get there easily. (+1 Awareness) You leave the Junk Room to the west.

Gas Pod #5
You return to the circular metallic walkway, next to pod #5. The fierce wind blows in from the catwalks. Trying to stop you, the Ugnaught is hanging from the container. The three of you head for the east-west catwalk.

As you cross, Lerona lets go of the container due to cold hands. You need to steady yourself due to wind. (+1 Balance) Dathis handles the container with no problem. You notice a beldon above you, rising into the sky. The three of you reach the platform.

The Central Platform
The Otana is parked here. Lerona starts to shiver.

The Otana
You all board the ship and drop the container of items next to the grasper. (Blackhole E Snoke scores 1 point) The Ugnaught lets go of the container. He's now in your galley. "How many more parts do you think we need Lerona?" you ask.

Still quite chilly, she answers. "I think we have enough to build something with. It'll just be missing a head." Lerona shivers and laughs. You leave the Otana.

The Central Platform > northwest

This catwalk is far more difficult to cross, for the wicked gale blows at you from ahead. The three of you grab the handrails. Lerona can barely grasp them. Dathis helps out by holding her steady with three hands.

Where is the Ugnaught now, we didn't leave him locked in the ship did we lol?

Why did we have to use the east-west walkway from Pod#5? What was wrong with the NE-SW walkway going from Pod #3?I

The Ugnaught was in the ship when you left. There's a delay before the ramp closes and locks, so it's possible he got out. However, you just don't know.

You attempted to leave the Junk Room to the southwest, but the Junk Room does NOT have a southwest exit. Therefore, since you're aware of the layout, you deduced the quickest route to the Otana using the Awareness skill.
Here's the route you took: Junk Room > west > Gas Pod #5 > west again, across the east-west catwalk > The Central Platform Here, you boarded the Otana.
Nothing was wrong with the NE-SW catwalk from Pod #3. It just would have been a longer route.

With assistance from you and Dathis, Lerona makes it across the catwalk. (+1 Tenacity) The fierce gale diminishes as soon as you step onto the circular metallic walkway.

Gas Pod #15
You now stand upon the northwest section of the 'ring'. Pod #15 is directly in front of you. Traveling clockwise (NE) leads to Gas Pod #16. Traveling counter-clockwise (SW) leads to Gas Pod #14.

Beyond pod #15, you see a long, rectangular room. There's an Aurebesh sign above the entrance that reads 'Tibanisphere Readings'. Beyond pod #16, to the NE, you spot a refresher area for the workers. Several Ugnaughts enter the facility. Behind you, once again, a beldon rises from between catwalks. The potent smell of fumes, irritatingly strong, wafts toward you from the southwest.

 

Ah. I was assuming that there was a different building or room at the end of every walkway. So the Bait room is at the end of the south "spoke of the wheel" with #9 pod, utility room and ion control at the pod#7 south east spoke, the conduction laboratory at the #5 pod east spoke and connecting to an east platform, the junk building at the #3pod NE spoke and the furnace at the end of the north spoke with pod#1. The NW spoke being the last to explore (W pod 13 being the dining building and SW pod 11 being near the explosive storage).

If the Junk is at #5 pod, what pod is the conduction lab nearest too?

At this point, you've seen the entire 'ring' (circular metallic walkway). {Cartography Unlocked / Level 1}

Analysis- Eight catwalks attach The Central Platform to the 'ring'. Each catwalk leads to a gas pod populating the 'ring'. Beyond each gas pod is a room. Every room is shaped differently, some larger than others. This discrepancy causes some rooms to be near multiple gas pods.

You talk to the Besalisk. "Dathis, would you go back and check that the Ugnaught isn't stuck in our ship?"

"Sure," he says, "but how will I board if it's locked up? I need your entry device."
You can't wait for his return because he hasn't left. Instead, you investigate the nearby room.

The room is dark.

You leave the room and travel clockwise along the 'ring' until you reach gas pod #6. "They're a bunch of jerks," you tell the pod.

You go north.

Gas Pod #5
To the east, you see an Ugnaught exiting the room of junk piles. You head west to the catwalk. While crossing, Dathis Kamiah helps Lerona again. The intense wind is affecting her balance and dexterity. She's very cold.

The Central Platform
The Otana is locked. As you approach the ship, its ramp opens allowing entry. You surmise that the craft unlocks by detecting something on your person. It's most likely the chronometer on your glove. The three of you board.

Common Room
You immediately notice the Ugnaught going through your container in the galley. He's putting the droid parts in his large tan pouch. (Ugnaught found.) You go west.

Galley
He grunts and squeals due to your arrival. Pointing at the container, he raises a fist and shakes it at you. {What do you say to the Ugnaught?}

 

> Lock ramp closed. Ugnaught will not be leaving with those parts.
> "Sorry but we need those parts to build a droid, you can help us if you like. We can pay you."
> "Let's all have a hot drink and talk business."

You move to the cockpit with haste. Once there, you manipulate the appropriate controls to close and lock the ramp. (Blackhole E Snoke scores 1 point) Looking northward out the viewport, you can see Gas Pod #1 across the catwalk. Just beyond the pod is another landing platform. You notice a Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft nearing the north platform from above. Far beyond, you notice a pair of Storm IV Twin-Pod cloud cars, but the repulsorlift city is gone!

You return to the galley in order to address the Ugnaught. "Sorry but we need those parts to build a droid, you can help us if you like. We can pay you." (+1 Influence: Your skill 'Influence' increases to ZERO, which represents average ability.)

The Ugnaught grunts emphatically, seeming to understand. He rubs his fingertips with his thumb. Apparently, he's fond of money.

"Let's all have a hot drink and talk business," you calmly suggest. After searching the galley and your supplies, you find nothing edible except the jar of Gentes butter. You can get water from the rinser, and you can boil at the cooking station, but you have no cups to hold liquid with.

You all sit down in the Common Room without drinks and start discussing matters. You can't speak Sy Bisti... yet. You can only read and write the trade language in standard and Bogolan script.

"If we're gonna talk with this Ugnaught," Dathis says, "then we should find the translator I ran into. He was wearing a white lab coat."

How do we have supplies but nothing to eat or drink?

When you entered the text command 'Search galley and supplies for Caf.', it was processed as 'Search galley and inventory for Caf.' because there are NO supplies (consumables) on the ship.

Perhaps you were thinking of the Otana's capacity:
The Otana - Lower Cargo Hold
The space is quite expansive for a ship this size. You estimate its capacity at 65 tons, plus two months' worth of consumables.

The Otana- Upper Cargo Hold
You estimate its capacity at 50 tons, plus an additional month's worth of consumables. There's an empty blue crate here.

So, you have room for three months' worth of consumables, but you need to stock the holds. At the moment, they're empty.

"That Firespray attack ship could mean trouble is coming," you tell the others.

"Didn't we see that ship back on the Scarlet Shadow?" Lerona asks you. She's warming up.

The Ugnaught grunts while pointing towards the cockpit.

You attempt to take the droid parts out of the Ugnaught's tan pouch, but he gets up and backs away. So, you decide to give him 10 credits as an incentive. He gladly accepts the money, and allows you to take the parts. (Blackhole E Snoke scores 1 point) You return all the droid parts to the container.

E-11 blaster rifle: Examined for functionality- The rifle is in perfect condition, but you'll need to supply a power cell and a plasma cartridge in order to use it. You return the E-11 to the container.

shield generator: Examine- It's a standard generator, worn like a backpack. The item is charged to level five, so it would provide 5 Defense Points if activated. "Lerona can you fix this now?" you ask your friend.

She looks at the device. "Oh... it's in perfect working order Aeryn."

You're now wearing the shield generator. You flip the activation switch and a protective bubble forms around your body. The energy field is tinted light blue.

The Ugnaught pulls away. He refuses to join you in the cockpit with a squeal.

"What is it Grunty?"

He points toward the cockpit again. You can see the patrol and attack craft landing on the north platform. Grunty runs into the galley.
