Comics Star Wars: The Hidden Empire (WofBH / Crimson Reign sequel)

On the one hand, in this case she will ultimately survive, which is great, on the other - there is a big chance that along with going into stasis she will return to the storyline "limbo" for the unknown amount of time.

 

I have a feeling that she probably is going back into the toybox for a while after this, regardless of how it ends.

Granted, something bigger and longer running could sprout from this. But I’m not sure what.

 

I can imagine Soule preparing Chekhov's guns for a potential post-ST storyline, in case greenlight for it will be granted.

 

I suppose that might genuinely be a direction the comics could take once they catch up to Return of the Jedi. Instead of going into the territory of the Mandalorian and it’s spinoffs they could migrate the main SW title forward to the ST era.

 

I have a feeling the comics will go into the 4ABY to 5ABY time period for a couple/few years.

 

I'm not so sure, those years are pretty packed already.

 

I’m thinking post-Jakku, pre-Mando.

I used to think they’d shift the line to post-Kenobi, pre-Andor, but now I’m not so confident since the Han and Chewie series isn’t an ongoing.

 

Marvel are already doing series in multiple eras so Han and Chewie setting up an event somewhere doesn't stop other stories happening elsewhere.

 

But not for Luke, so far in post-Endor - pre-Jakku time period there are mostly just cameos for him.

A mini-series about him and Aphra, teaming up for finding Jedi artifacts and reflecting upon Anakin's death, would be a great ending for OT era comics, that started in 2015, before moving to something new.

 

True but can we really trust the TV lot won't stick their oar in?

 

Regarding Luke - unlikely.

 

Few years back I'd have agreed, now? I really don't know.

 

With deepfake getting better and now new tech copyng voices. I woundt doubt of a show where Luke could be a reccuring character. But I think the 5 years between ROTJ and Mandalorian might be only touched by books, comics and maybe animation.

 

I think they should do a Jedi game with Luke and Lor San Tekka post-ROTJ. Jedi Reviver(heh), it can do all the things Fallen Order and Survivor do, but with a story about Luke and Lor seeking out Jedi lore and artifacts in the ruins of High Republic outposts.

Maybe they have BD-1 to connect it to Cal and keep that ride along droid aspect of the gameplay. Can't very well have Artoo following Luke around scanning objects and what not.

I have a hard time seeing the comics doing too much featuring the Big 3 together on adventures post-ROTJ from what we already know. Han and Leia are basically going to be building government and raising Ben. Maybe we'll see Luke train Leia on Ajan Kloss for a few issues. Another look at the Battle of Jakku maybe?

Judging by the Vader and Star Wars solicitations, whatever Qi'ra is doing will severely affect the Force users' connection to the Force somehow. Though, I do like the idea of her willingly going into the Fermata Cage, even though it would mean she'll end up being shelved indefinitely. And that's based on the off chance other writers won't retcon it if they even acknowledge its existence.

Well, the Drengir are also Sith's enemies, and Qi'ra will use any help she can get.
