Just saw TFA on monday, and it was totally worth it going spoiler free. I'm excited about things going forward....but I want to stay spoiler free for episodes 8 & 9. I'm thinking about subscribing to SW Insider...but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

Anyone have any experience with Insider?

I basically just saw the first 2 trailers, looked at character names/actors for TFA. Going into episode 8, I'm probably just going to watch 1 or 2 of the trailers and speculate based on TFA. Really want as much as possible to be a surprise.

i have not had any experiences with insider, but I avoided most of the detailed official info. I did not know this until after seeing the film and then heading over to the former TFA spoilers board, but apparently, there were two novels that dealt with the backstory, as well as the databank and the visual dictionary (all official) that had information that could have been possibly considered "spoiler-ish".

so, generally, i would say to avoid the insider magazine, to stay as "spoiler-free" as possible.

Thanks Mist1024! I guess this is the "problem" with the whole Star Wars film every year thing. ;) I guess I have 3 options. 1) Don't subscribe. 2) Subscribe but only look at the current issue, and store all the others until its 'safe' to look at them (aka after episode 9 comes out). 3) Subscribe and look at everything and take the chance of getting spoiled.

Considering you were THAT spoiler free (well done!) for TFA, I'm sure Insider would have much more information than what you were apparently exposed to this time. I would not recommend it.

This whole idea actually brings up a good point: I had some things (I think) possibly spoiled for me for TFA and I was slightly bummed. They are things I was kind of predicting anyways but still. But we get another chance right away here with VIII to try again on avoiding spoilers!! And IMO it seems like all the "BIG" reveals/twists tend to come in 2nd and 3rd movies in trilogies, so there's that.

Here's to another try at avoiding spoilers-even better this time!!! Just the trailers for me this time!! ;)

LOL I haven't even seen TFA yet, and I'm already talking Episode VIII. :-B
