Same, I smell this will while mostly feature known eras hop off into at least some new ones to teaser or test their waters!
With a name like that, I was thinking this would be some TOTJ or KOTOR like story about the setting's past. Oh well, still looks like some interesting material to see here, with a classic choice of characters and nice spread of authors.
10 Authors means 10 stories.. 5 Jedi 5 Sith? Or rather mixed? Movie Era alone they got enough to fill them but I hope at least some are further removed or at least like flashbacks with a framing in movie era of characters learning about past Sith or Jedi even. If I were to conceptualize the book, and sadly I was not hired, I'd feature different locations in each story too, different eras like a hop through the entire timeline. One story set on Ach-To, the next on Jedha, then Tython, Ossus, Korriban, Malachor, Exegol, Coruscant, etc. But nobody listens to me...
Very true and well said. Though...bringing up Ach-to and Tython...I would love it if the Luke story is about one of his journies with Lor San Tekka exploring ancient jedi ruins. That has been a woefully underused basis for stories ever since TFA first came out.
Yub, Jedi archeology should be the theme for an entire series, be it tv, animation, books, comics, shorts or else. We have plenty if places to explore and the concept worked well for Galaxy of Fear, the Graf Kids stories or even Jedi Padawan and Quest with each new world they visited a new lesson about the Force. Even Aphra is a running series of flashbacks to past artifacts and deadly treasures. They even could throw them all together... have the Graf kids get tricked by Aphra, who then runs into the Arranda Twins and looses her toy to their luck, but they have to hand it over to Luke and Lor San Tekka who take off to the Unknown and meet Savi or Lando... and on it goes. Even stories for each of Maz Kanatas palace treasures, Dok Ondars collection items or Hondo Ohnakas gigs involving Jedi, Sith or artifacts come to mind. Corellia Antilles too. And that was only one of few storyhooks from TFA.. that movie set up a lot more, like the entire Forceback sequence and mysterious characters and clans.
Look who stories will be about: Gesendet von meinem FP3 mit Tapatalk Barriss Offee!!!!!!!! @Barriss_Coffee
Shame, no Snoke tough. But i hope Darth Maul is pre-TPM or post clone wars, Qui gon as aforce ghost or him training to be one, Barris Offee post clone wars, Rey Palpatine Skywalker post ST pls.
The wording "ten acclaimed authors imagine all-new tales" makes me think that none of these are going to scenes from tv and film retold in prose form. Hopefully - we have enough of that sort of thing already.
I was kind of hoping for some new Sith and Jedi characters. They're only going for established characters, which is slightly under whelming.
XD Don't forget the Shadow Academy! (But seriously, a comic series about Luke, Lor, and Mika Grey exploring ancient ruins with the Shadow Academy as the bad guys and Dr Aphra as a wildcard with a guest appearance of Corellia Antilles would be a dream come true) Barris Offeee eh? There is a surprise among this line up of giants. I am really excited to finally get more of her....but also knida nervous this means she isn't getting a bigger appearance anywhere else. Oh well, better something than nothing.
This should be interesting. Not shocked they are keeping it to established characters. Still no Dooku is a shame. Hope they do something with Bariss. I wonder when some of these stories will be set; Luke, Rey, Palpatine could be interesting or standard.
I never liked Dooku and I never will. But all the same: He really is owed something at this point. Like, seriously, he's "Fake Palpatine" before Snoke even existed.
Dooku jedi lost, master and apprentice made him into a more intresting character. Maybe in Padawan we get little more. Also I hope Rey be post ST, Palpatine post OT, Maul post clone wars and such.
