On the Select Pics page is that a Dark Trooper on the bottom pic?

 

Hey, someone else has played Dark Forces! Jedi-H, it is based on the Dark Trooper, it is actually a 'Sith Trooper' Basically it can do everything the Dark Trooper can, but instead of hands it's got a giant claw in one arm, and a laser chain gun in the other. Behind a Stormtrooper, the Dark Trooper is probably my favourite all time character, I just love the head, it looks so very mean.

Nikki doesn't like him much I've got to fight that? I'm scared!

I'm going as fast as I can with the trailer boys, but this time I'm not going to rush it out to hit a deadline, it'll just be ready when it's ready I'm afraid

 

I wish I could help you with it Daft, but I'm not good enough with EI, nor AE yet...I could probably render for you though(maybe)

ARE YOU HOLDING OUT ON ME!!!

I posted a thread a while back for my now-in-rough edit (90 percent visual about 5 percent audio, we're going for video lock this weekend) Metal Gear Solid movie. I was asking if anyone knew how to do good muzzle flashes.

It seems you have quite a nice one sitting on that fourth pic... WHAT GIVES! share the knowledge. (the smily is there to let Macho know I am not ACTUALLY angry.)

But I am curious, how did you do that? I am happy with my method that I figured out in Media Studio Pro, but yours look VERY cinematic.

I wouldn't dare speak for another filmmaker or fanfilmmaker, but guys you must realize that in the world of the film and efx you can't expect that all will share their secrets, especially when a film contains the little gems that set their projects apart from the many quickly forgotten fanfilms. Those interested in sharing are usually 3D specialist who provide tutorials all over the net. Once again I'm not speaking for Daft or anyone else, but that has been my experince in the creative community. 3D can be learned as well as the Filmmaking language, there is a difference in the two. Not long ago when I added 3D to my filmmaking skills, trust me I learned no competitive secrets and very little was shared by those who are now famous for there work. Search deep in books and on the web, you'll find answers to many techniques and tricks, maybe better than the next guy.

 

yo fritz... did you not see the in my post? I would LIKE to know how he made muzzles but like I said, I found out my own way.

Ok, i've seen clone war, so where's the trailer!!!!

 

The Dark Trooper sure looks impressive. Although I've only ever played the demo of Dark Forces, so I don't know what they actually look like.

Now if I could just be a pain for a moment? Daft, in the last pic above, and the 3rd select, the shadow looks like it's going in the wrong direction. Especially when you look at where the light on the suit appears to be coming from. Is that one of those fake shadows like Commotion Pro does? I don't know if After FX does those aswell. As for the lens flares, there should be more of those

Those ships were really unexpected, and how did you get Ewan MacGregor in your film?

Nikki looked startlingly like Natalie Portman in it. Did you really scratch her back like that? Ow!

Anyway, I can't wait for the completed film!

JMD, He's talking about the Clone War trailer for Attack of the Clones.

The selects looked really cool. That Sith Trooper reminds me of Max from "The Black Hole".


So, when does the trailer come out?

 

I have to say, I'm looking quite forward to this one. I thought that Dark Skies was okay, but needed some improving on the visuals, but this one has got it down. Great improvement! Well done!

I love it in that 4th select pic how you put the "thing" in sillohette; makes it look...spooky!

WOAH! I just went to stormahead.com and went around to all the sections to see if Daft is keeping one of his serects from us. I went into the 3d-gallery and noticed he has a new entry
