Amph Succession

I didn’t see a thread for this. But is anyone else watching this? I currently think it’s the best show on tv right now. Great performances. Superb writing.

I watched most of S1 as it aired but i just lost track along way.

 

It’s one of those shows that I think looks interesting, but never got around to watching. It’s in the same category as Billions.

But one of these days...

 

With tonight's season finale, Success ascended into the top tier of all of television.

 

Yeah, the season finale was great.

Turns out Kendall was a “killer” after all. And even though Logan was betrayed, with that tiny little smirk, he was finally proud of his son.

 

So many great lines, character arcs, amazing acting

One of the best shows on TV and well worth an HBO sub.

We watched the first two episodes, but it didn't hold our interest. It's like it tried very hard to be Billions, but Billions it ain't.

 

Third season premiere....still so good.

 

Succession renewed for 4th season

There were like three “God I love this show” moments in the most recent episode. I’ve already used the love portfolio line on my wife multiple times.

 

@Darth Punk It is a dark comedy and it's based off the Murdochs. Yes they are absolutely horrible people to the highest degree yet somehow I got a small crush on Shiv. But yes you are supposed to find them absolutely revolting. Side note, they originally wanted to make a movie about the Murdochs but it never got into production.

Seriously god-tier episode this week. Any one of the moments near the end of the episode could make an entire SEASON of any other show but this show has them all in this episode, bang bang bang.

 

It’s undoubtedly well-written but I can’t stand these people and their lives and so I quit watching it around episode three. Have had enough of terrible families in the real world and can’t subject myself to more of them in the fiction world. I’m also just sick of people like this being placed on a pedestal. They’re not interesting and their world isn’t interesting. And they’re not that funny either (not even as subjects of obvious satire).

I mean, if we’re supposed to find them revolting, I understand a one-and-done dark comedy film about them directed by Iannucci. But to spend this much time with these s#its?

Though yeah, it’s well-written.

 

I quit after 2 episodes for the same reason -- I didn't like any of the characters.

I'm in a group chat with 3 other friends and they all watch it; I'm the only one that doesn't and they all love it. I may need to give it another chance, but from what I've heard it's not gonna grow on me.

 

I didn't try this one because it looked similar to Billions, which I didn't like because it was too soapy and meandering, almost like Entourage for fin-tech. For those who've watched both, is Succession better?

 

I like(d) both Billions and Entourage, but I can see how they can turn people off.
