Wow, not a lot of activity on this thread lately...

Anyways, Frontier is having a fare sale. Not as many options as Southwest, but I might be up for flying at weird times if I'm going to save a few hundred bucks.

So, you arrive Wednesday morning? Am I reading that schedule right?
I don't think I could do that, even at that price. I'd be a wreck the first day and sleep would be even more elusive the rest of the weekend. I gotta get off on the right foot...cause I'm old!

Anybody interested in going to the 501st Bash?

    Details:
Celebrate the 501st Legion’s Twentieth Anniversary during Celebration Orlando at the 501st Legion Bash! You’ll get to walk the streets of Mos Eisley and enter the Cantina for a party like none other. Come prepared for the showdown, dressed in your best scum and villainy attire, and be entertained by the sites and sounds that can only be found in this wretched hive. Your evening will include:

    Celebrity guest appearances
Dancing to tunes spun by a live DJ
    Exclusive gifts and awesome prizes
Themed drink menu and collectible cups
An immersive Mos Eisley Cantina experience
And the evening’s highlight: a private performance by 501st Legion honorary member “Weird Al” Yankovic!
That’s right – Weird Al will be stopping by the Bash to help us celebrate our twentieth anniversary milestone! You wondered how the team that brought you the 501st Bash: Party at the Palace in 2012 would outdo that amazing event. Now you know! The event will be at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, connected to the convention center, which provides us double the space as in 2012. Even with the larger venue, tickets WILL sell out, so order yours today!

    Date: Saturday, April 15, 2017
    Time: 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Location: Hyatt Regency – 9801 International Drive, Orlando FL 32819
    Ages: 18+

    $100

The trivia is at the 501st Banquet, which is Friday. The Bash is Saturday. I had to get clarification, too.

Uh-oh! 4 day tickets now sold out?!?

Well that stinks. 4 day passes have never sold out for a US Celebration earlier than the month of the convention. I'm really hoping they open up more as individual days cost an extra $120!

Holy smacks. Buying tickets wasn't even on my radar until next month at the earliest.

I bit the bullet and bought 4 1-day passes. A $150 mistake I will not make again.

All the Star Wars groups are being invited to the 501st bash, which is starring Weird Al Yankovich. I think I have to go to this.

I'm thinking of going, too. You get a special patch if you buy a ticket before January 15.
It's $100, which isn't too bad considering Weird Al will be there...and what else are you gonna do Saturday night of the con until 2 a.m.?!?

Schedule is out. Just like in Anaheim, the big panel will be first thing Thursday - 40 years of Star Wars at 11 am.

Now that's a scary thought. Maybe I should lock myself in the bathroom and sleep in the tub...

I just wanted to take a moment and thank all the members of the RMFF, Mountain Garrison etc that opened their arms and hearts over Celebration. Specifically: Zoo, Matt J, Torri R, Jim W, Erin R, Jeff & Kim R, Kat P - if you're not listed, it's not because you weren't nice... it's because I have a mind like a steel sieve... rusty and full of holes... You're the reason that I had such a wonderful time. Since the Phoenix FF is dead (for now), I'll probably just come over here and bug you guys instead. I'm thinking that with airfare as low as it is these days, I'm going to try (very hard) to come out some time in the late summer or early fall for a long-ish weekend. (Yes, Zoo, I'm finally listening to you)

Thanks again guys - the people is what makes this whole crazy star wars thing worth chasing.

I caught up with Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun Celebration Live. Lots of good stuff there besides panels. They had most of the big stars who didn't have panels out there at one time or another, Including Hayden, Felicity Jones, Forrest Whitaker, John Boyega, and Dennis Lawson.

Besides the three 11am panels, they include there:

    Character Origins
    Ian McDiarmid
    Ray Park
    Warwick Davis
    Heroines
    Hamill on Fisher
    Anthony Daniels
    Cosplay Competition
    Billy Dee Williams
    Smuggler's Revenge
    Hamill Himself
    Closing Ceremonies

So much content! I'd like to take in some more of these panels while commuting, but I think I'd be tempted to watch the videos and not just the audio. ;)
