I? we got to go back to our rooms today. A night in the healers ward, light, noises, waking you up to see if you are having trouble sleeping, what fun. They insisted 'we' take some time off, maybe the stress of my new job and her mop schedule is too much for us. Both of us at the same time - stressed?

They asked a couple of the young knights to keep us occupied. Knight Jinn is escorting Zenella to a concert in the great hall and Knight Dane is escorting me. I wonder if this is what the outsiders call a double date. Nah! We could be their mothers. Just two younglings taking the old ladies out to a concert, it is sweet of them though.

I looked up stress in the dictionary and it said getting dressed up and going out to your first social event after a prolonged period of disability. At least it's not a dance that would be cruel. My door chime just rang tell you all about it later.

An: A new reader Yay!! Glad you like it Aiden. Thank you to everyone who reads and or reviews.@};- I wasn't going to do a PM list since this is a daily diary but if you can stand a PM each day I will be happy to oblige.

    1/15/7

I was to tired to write when I got back last night so I went straight to bed. I woke up this morning still in my dress robes. The door chime wasn't my escort but someone from the healer ward coming to see if I needed any help. They know I can't reach over my head because of my infirmities so they sent someone to assist me in a more formal arrangement of my hair. She fluffed and fretted until I met with her approval then called for Knight Dane to come pick me up. I felt a little like a youngling preparing for my first recital being inspected by the Master of the Creche.

Since our rooms are fairly close together we met up with Zenella and Jinn in the hall and continued on together. Everyone stood and applauded when we arrived, Zenella was startled but Jinn calmed her with that smooth deep voice of his.

The concert was simply amazing with several instruments I can't remember the names of.
~ Why is it I have so much trouble remembering names of instruments yet I can proof read mission reports? The brain is an unusual instrument.

Anyway the instruments are the ones that sounds like tinkling bells and the string things that there are always several played together and the flute that sound like the wind on a spring day. The composition was by the Master from Naboo, Motzark or something like that. ~ My music teacher would hate me if she read this. It's a good thing no one reads it but me.

Everyone was so kind to us, it's strange to be lumped in with her but that's the price I paid for my inattention on that last mission. I remember an old lady once said she didn't see herself old until she looked in the mirror. I guess that?s why I hate mirrors now. I really must work on this attitude problem.

Anyway everyone was kind to us, they didn't notice when she laughed out loud at the bells or when she cried at the flute section and when she applauded at the wrong time they all applauded with her. They were very sweet. I must be sweeter!!

I must go get ready someone is picking me us for lunch and a stroll in the room of a thousand fountains.

How wonderful Zanella had a nice evening out and everyone was kind to her.

Definitely a lesson most of the Jedi need to learn.

I hope Taryn will remember it next time she sees Zan.

    Great update

what a sweet account of the date. Qui-Gon calming Zenella down was wonderful and everyone helping out making Zenella feel comfortable is great.

I am realizing that most of Taryn's issues are with her own frustration at the disability of her own, which is entirely appropriate and in character with what happens to us when we don't work right anymore.

    Motzark.

    :p

Nice update, I liked that the concert went well, even if Zenella applauded at a different time than anyone would expect, doesn't make it a "wrong" time.

oops I missed an entry. **guilty** Although these are so great that it's kind of fun to read a few together back to back.

This is really touching. I love the insight. You've really gotten into this character.

AN: Thank you everyone for reading and or reviewing. I have enjoyed this challenge very much. I get to work on all my fears of being old and infirmed, magnify them and give them a twist and maybe come out with a comedic diary.

Well, I didn't get back to describe my lunch and trip to the room of a thousand fountains yesterday. We experienced a scene out of one of those holo-comedies I saw on a mission once. I think the name was 'I Adore Lucia'. Our lunch was perfect but the walk got kinda damp. It appears Zenella loves to swim. You know the large fountain in the center of the room. Yah! She did!

Every time someone tried to get her out they ended up in with her. There was six, no seven of us in there before we got her out. I discovered that while Yoda's gimmer stick floats, he doesn't. Also that whatever his people are, they don't like swimming. He let out a scream that sounded like a cross between a mynock squeak and a wampa's bray. It gave everyone in the temple goose bumps.

Today four of us are in the healers ward Zenella, Qui-Gon, Yoda and me. Oh! You don't want to hear Yoda sneeze.

My hot tea and bird soup are here.

    I adore Lucia! [face_laugh] [face_laugh]

There is a plot bunny just waiting to happen.

Yoda not floating? They are all in the hospital? Oh. just too cute for words.

I love it that Zenella is so "young" that swimming in the fountain was a good.. no a great idea!

Yoda can't even float on his back? :p. Of course, that wouldn't have helped Zanella much.

At least the healers are keeping busy.

Day two in the healer ward, for someone not wanting to come back in here I have been in here twice in as many weeks. I'm starting to wonder if I am going to survive my time off. Just send me back to my chair in the east lobby with a stack of report to proof read and I'll be happy. Could someone hold my head still or the room? Either one!

Someone brought me Bantie while I was asleep. It's getting unnerving to wake up and find him wherever I am. I'm starting to wonder about him. I must have a fever I think he just laughed at me.

    ~`~`~`~

That's better, a nap helped. I think my fever broke. I had several very strange dreams. I dreamed I was in a huge pot and Yoda was trying to cook me. He was stirring the pot with his gimmer stick and kept hitting me for eating his mushrooms. The strange thing is my head hurt where I dreamed he hit it. I just want to know, which came first the dream or the headache?

oh dear. She doesn't sound like she is really doing all that well. I am a bit worried about her!

Yoda hitting her for eating his mushrooms? Ouch! That is a dream I think we are all glad we haven't had.

Make my head stop spinning. Or the room.

:p Sounds like she's been having some fun at night with a bottle.

Her bantha keeps showing up when she needs it. Hmm, I wonder who brings it? [face_mischief]

    Waiting for more. :)

So everyone in the Temple watches out for her, she mops when she wants where she wants. She goes where she wants as long as she doesn't leave the Temple, for her own safety. They said she once mopped the Council Chamber in the middle of an important meeting and the master just moved their feet and let her mop around them. I would have loved to see those great masters bowing to the wishes of a simple mop lady.

Sounds like she is the Lu_tse of the Jedi temple. I have suspicions, especially because of the returned bantha.

Today I felt as if I was seeing through her eyes. It scares me to death when it first happened. I was walking through the east corridor and looked up to see myself with the mop. I screamed and dropped my data-pads and she screamed and dropped her mop. We caused quite a stir in the Temple. I couldn't explain what happened and neither could she.

    things get interesting now.

It's morning and I'm back in my room but can't go back to work for a few days. The healer gave me a holo-drama to watch but I keep going to sleep in the middle of it. I have watched it three times so far and haven't found out who killed the Count. They need a fast forward on it. Nah! I have enough trouble concentrating without watching it in fast forward.

    ~`~`~`~

Just finished lunch and a visit from the healer. I get to go back to work tomorrow if my fever stays down. Can't tell you how much begging I had to do to get that verdict. Yoda and Jinn are still in the healer ward that has to be fun.

Found out who killed the Count in the holo-drama, the senator from Naboo. I didn't think anyone bad could come from Naboo.

    ~`~`~`~

Early evening, my room is clean and I'm bored to death I must be feeling better. I slept most of the last three days now I am awake. I tried to sneak out to watch the traffic lights from the North Corridor Observatory but got caught and ushered back to bed. At least she gave me another holo-drama to watch, a secret Sith is trying to take over the galaxy. Yeah! Like that could happen.

    Loved the holodramas.

And I'm sure Yoda is making all kinds of mischievous trouble for the healers. ;)

This is one of the best diaries I've ever read, very well done, Lea-el. Looking forward to more.

I'm back at work. Who would think it could feel so good to be back at work? If I can't go out on missions, at least I can proof read reports and read about missions.

Yoda's out of the healer ward but Jinn is still in there. They say the head of the department is thinking about retiring and moving to Tatooine after dealing with us. Tatooine has little water and hopefully not as much cold and flu as we have here. Knight Jinn had a bad reaction to the medicine they gave him so I don't see how moving could help that.

I've never understood why there are never windows in the healer ward. Don't they know that sunshine makes you feel so much better? They are starting to call me a sunbird because I follow the sun. I work in the east hall in the morning and west in the afternoon. Ah! That's why I keep running into Zenella, we're two sunbirds. Something else we have in common.

Apparently Zenella is doing better I saw her mopping the other side of the corridor a little while ago. I was going to say hello but she went the other way and I just got settled into my chair and my work arranged. I'll probably see her again in a little while she tends to work in one area most of the day.
