Technical question - linking to pm pages

Hey, I was wondering if there was a cute and savvy code for linking to a pm page directed at a specific user (kind of like a mailto: in html). Like, if you wanted to link to Bobill's pm page, you could use the [/link ] business, but I was wondering if there was something a bit shorter and more intuitive, like [mailto:bobill]. Anybody know of any such thing, or does it not exist?

As far as I know, there isn't. You can hide that under a link if you wanted to include it in your posts, but I don't think there's just an easy code to use.

 

There is no such code - and that's really a bad thing, as I might promote spam PMs. The technique you've suggested is the one to use, and I realise it's particularly helpful if you want to embed a PM link for people to PM someone regarding game results, or votes or quiz answers etc.

You can expand the link to include a subject line for the PM, and message content (however that makes the code even longer, which probably defeats the purpose of your question.
