First encounter with Star Wars: I was so little I don't even remember how little I was, but I must have seen it. I used to remember strange images and not be able to place them. Then when I was 11 or so, I watched the Trilogy for the first time, and I realized what the images were. And I fell in love with the movies.
First fanfic written at: When I was just barely 16, I wrote Almost Family after discovering that fanfic existed.
Favorite character/Why?: Han and Leia. I love 'em individually, but when they're together, sparks fly. They are just so wonderful.
Ever written in the OT? Of course! OT and post-OT EU.
PT? I'm ashamed to say that I have . . . and I even have a plot bunny for another.
Random Fact: I'M GOING TO COLLEGE NEXT YEAR!!! WHOO HOO!!!

Have I ever been looked down on by older fans? Not really, just because I've only seen the movies at home on my VCR that doesn't mean that I love the OT less. As a matter of fact I think I like it even more since I have watched them over and over since I was a little easy-to-win kid.

But as Yub Yub says, the older fans tend to use their theater viewings as an argument when they are starting to feel old

FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH SW: Dunno, I was pretty young. I always liked it but I never really got into it until after the SE's were released.

FAV CHAR:Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
WHY?: because he is the most complicated character in the saga; a swirling mass of contradictions. He's also got that fallen angel vibe going which I seem to fall hard for.

FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH SW: I can't even remember ~ I grew up on them! But I became a "SW geek" when I picked up "Heir to the Empire" at the library. I read every SW book from TTT to Balance Point in six months.

FIRST FANFIC WRITTEN AT: 13? Maybe 14.

FAV CHAR: Kyp and Jacen

WHY?: Kyp...because he's the quintissential (sp?) gray character: You never know quite where you stand with him; he's incredibly complex, like most people in RL. Jacen...because he's like me: the "over-intellectual bleeding heart". He's deep, he provokes thought, but that doesn't keep him from action when it's necessary.

PT?: Yes. But I haven't posted any of it. I stick to NJO.

Okay, topic two.

Do you believe that people who have been around for the OT are better fanfic writers?

In my case, I disagree with this. I've read work by both adults and teens and most stuff my teans is s heck of a lot better. There are acceptions of coruse (Jane Jinn for example)

 

I don't think that having been around for the OT makes you a better writer. You can still love it just as much whether you first saw it in the cinema or on video/TV. There are lots of talented fanfic writers out there of all ages.

So, how was everyones day? Mine was good 'cause I had a reveiw day (everyone gets the day of college and only has to go in for individual appointments with teachers). I spent an hour waiting for my friend, who was waiting for a 250 page document to come out of the incredibly slow printer. I had to keep on apologising for her to the people whose things were stuck in the print queue cause of her . It was embaressing.

Uh, I had to go to the 'Wyandotte Youth Support Academy'. In social studies the other day, I found a way past the security systems that keep kids from getting to bad sites, told everybody, and one kid turned safesearch on Google off. I jokingly typed 'porn' in the search box, left, and now I have to go to the 'Wyandotte Youth Support Academy', as I've been found 'guilty of searching for pornography on the internet'. Hell, I didn't even look at it! The place is nine hours a day, and I have to go three days. Today was my second day.

One thing that is kinda funny is that the place where I go is a part of a kindergarden building. I have to get on my knees to take a piss, and I can easily sit on the drinking fountains.

AGE: 18, 19 in 3 months.
FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH SW: Very young, possibly 4 or 5. I watched ROTJ first as I recall.
FIRST FANFIC WRITTEN AT: Oh god, I spent all of my teenage years and younger writing in several different genres. My first full length story was written aged 7, my first Starwars full length story that wasn't erotic is still a work in progress, and you can see that through the link in my sig.
BTW, 7 is right, I'm a genius
FAV CHAR: Had many favourite characters over the years, but I'm beginning to like Palpatine a lot more.
WHY?: He did a lot of planning to get where he did. Think I might try and take over the world if I get bored with writing.

PT?: No, most PT fics I see are too lovey dovey or full of screaming women loving Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan.
