    I'm also thinking we probably won't see Broom Boy again but to play devils advocate maybe the plot of Ep. IX will be about the FO hunting down Force sensitive people, in which case we might get a Broom Boy cameo.

    Correct. I do not say this to diminish him or his purpose, even in the slightest, but he is less a character and far more of a statement or avatar for a broader point being made. Which is perfectly fine. But, to transform him into a character in 9 would almost diminish the point of his existence... that anonymous people in every corner of the GFFA are being inspired.

    Others may feel/hope differently, but I personally am quite certain he was simply meant as a foreshadowing personification of the multitudes of individuals throughout the galaxy-Force sensitive or not-who may one day join the cause of the Resistance against the tyranny of the FO. To me, it was all just symbolism. A way to leave us with a sense hope that..."help is out there," and "this is not the end," after just seeing a quite depressing beat-down of the remains of the Resistance.

    At the same time this is Star Wars we're talking about. They just can't help but refer back to things that don't need referring back to. The franchise is filled to the brim with examples of this. So while I don't need to see Broom Boy I wouldn't be surprised if we not only see him return but we'll see him use the Force and then hit a stormtrooper over the head with a broom as if to say, "get it?!?! He's the kid with the broom from the last movie!!!"

    You all know it could happen!

    I initially suspected he might become one of Rey's Force pupils in Episode IX, depending upon how much time has passed since TLJ, but his inclusion isn't essential.

    Prior to the release of Solo I half jokingly said the movie would be explain why Lando pronounced Han’s name like it rhymed with “man”. Lo and behold I was right! I’m now getting the same vibe about my Broom Boy joke. Calling it now: Broom Boy will wack somebody with his broom in Ep. IX.

    Broom boy was actually kicked out of Hogwarts. He's trying his luck as a Jedi now.

    When I first watched it, I thought maybe he would be a character that would appear in a different trilogy, but that's pretty unlikely.

    A chunk of what makes me think he won’t be significant (on screen anyway) is his kinda stupid and uninspiring sounding name.

    When you think about it though none of the forefront characters have silly names... to me anyway... only side characters.

    I thought he was about 10, 11, 12. Anakin looks younger than 10 in TPM, he looks like 7 or 8, so we really have no idea.

    Officially the actor is 11 years old, 12 in October...filmed 2 years ago he'll have been 9-10 tears old.:p
