DAY 28 - TOP 5 VILLAINS WHO TURNED GOOD

I absolutely love a good redemption arc. Not just in Star Wars, but fiction in general. Star Wars has some of the very best though.

1. Kylo Ren
Best character in the sequels. Best redemption arc. His whole story was done to perfection. His turn to the light side was built up over three films and the payoff was worth it. From the very start we saw he was unbalanced and fighting off the light, which is the complete opposite of Anakin and most other characters, making his arc really unique. The final moments of his turn to the light were absolutely beautiful, when he was standing on the Death Star ruins talking to the vision of his father Han Solo. That's one of the best scenes in the saga. I freaking love Ben Solo!

2. Darth Vader
Obviously. Probably the most iconic redemption in cinema history. Vader was menacing and merciless which made his turn extra shocking. But Luke always knew there was still good in him. When Vader eventually proved Luke right and saved his life by killing the Emperor, it was really satisfying to watch.

3. Agent Kallus
The episode where Kallus and Zeb are trapped in the ice cave was one of the most memorable in the show. I loved seeing a loyal high ranking Imperial that turned good because of how different he saw the Rebellion was to his Empire. The Rebels treated their own with love and respect while the Imperials didn't care if you lived or died. It was such an interesting and heartwarming arc to see unfold.

4. Asajj Ventress
This is a character I never, ever thought I'd see switch sides. Never. So seeing her teaming up with the heroes like Kenobi and Ahsoka was awesome. This whole redemption arc gave her character a lot more depth and she ended up being one of the most memorable in the show.

5. Iden Versio
What made Iden's redemption arc so memorable was the fact that you actually got to play through it first hand. It's always satisfying seeing an Imperial leave the Empire and join the Rebellion. I really enjoyed the BF2 campaign, and Iden was a great character.

I need to give a special shoutout to Hondo Ohnaka, who we got to slowly see grow a conscious as he interacted with our heroes throughout TCW. The Youngling arc was a huge stand out for his character and the turning point where he was no longer seen as a villain but more of a hero.

4) Lama Su - this really impressed me for seeing the detached Kamanoians take pride in the clones and bend the rules accordingly to protect them. I thought Kaminoians regarded the clones as property and a way to make money. That they had little regard for the clones as living beings. But here we have at the very least Kamanoian pride in what they feel is their top work.

Also interesting to see them suspicious of the Empire and not totally going along with the change of clients after the Republic is no more.

5) Saw Guerra - were see the missing link between Clone Wars and Rogue One Saw.

I quite liked the pilot episode. But for now the Bad Batch themselves remain the zany clones from the Clone Wars. The classic characters are my favorites still.

But right now Cross Hair is my favorite is the actual Bad Bad for turning on the rest of his team.
