One wall of the banquet hall darkens as shadows grow to inky blackness. When the wall could no longer be seen, two luminescent crimson eyes appears. If someone looked closely, the poor soul would see hints of a terrifying demonic face.

I'M HEEEEERE! LET THE CEREMONIES BEGIN!

There is no reply. The hall is empty except for the service droids cleaning up the litter left by the audience and the remains of the floorshow. Not a living soul is present.

NUTS.

Wow! I was away all day yesterday and missed the ceremony! I'm deeply humbled by your responses to my portrayal of Jag and I thank you so much for nominating me! Congrats to my co-winners as well, Amidala_Skywalker and DarthLothi! And of course, a round of applause to all the winners and nominees!!

 

Thanks for the thanks, Jade and Mel. I'm still so relieved that it went off without a hitch.

Well, I'm very late, but I still want to thank everyone who nominated the Lady Vaders stories, and who voted for us in the two categories we won (Best OT, Best Collaboration). And to thank JediGaladriel (and congratulate her on the very deserved Best Author win) for writing these stories with me.

No offense to Obischick but, does anyone else think that it is very ODD that the winner of the JA category is A HANDMAIDEN STORY???

JA stands for Jedi Apprentice, not just pre TPM.

Anyway I have to laugh.

Have any of you ever read any of Jane Jinn, Cassia, or any other numeber of really great JA author's stories.

 

JTG, no offense, but have you bothered to read the rules in the first place? Don't you think it's a bit too late for complaining? It was clearly stated in the first nominations thread that it's not only JA, but the JA era, meaning all stories that took place before TPM were qualified.

Oh, and by the way, congratulations to the winners. I'm sorry, I couldn't make it here earlier, but at least this way I want to congratulate you. You all deserved it!

 

As much as my entire body wants to go rabied dog right now, I won't. The fact is that the awards are over ....

JTG - like Mar said, "JA" was all JA era stuff. I suppose we could have titled it pre-prequel, but most fanficers are familiar with the term "JA".

Apperently not. If they had, people would have nominated them and voted for them. I (or anybody else that was involved in the awards) can't make people vote or nominate. The stories that were nominated and voted on were chosen by the users, not me, not anybody on the planning committe. Personally, I was saddened by the turn out for that category, but, short of going into every JA story and spamming them with awards nonsense, there was nothing I could do about it.

 

I am really slow on finding this but congratulations to all the winners!

I'm hopefully going to make my debut as a Fan Fiction author soon, so watch for me. Maybe in a year or two one of my stories will be on the nomination list. *crosses her fingers*

I was wondering if the stories here exist in a format without commentaries (e.g. files with just the stories themselves). I lack the patience to search for the story embedded among the many, many pages. THanks for your help!

Just wondering, but how often do Fan Fic awards take place?

 

They take place about twice a year, so the next ceremony should be coming up in about November, I think.

 

do people get nominated or can anyone just apply?

 

I was asked by a moderator to run the awards this time - Pallas graciously took over for me just after the nominations were over, when I found out that my grandfather was having an unexpected surgery. If this isn't the way it's normally done, I'm afraid I can't help you.

_Alisas_Silverleaf_, when award season rolls around, a thread will be posted announcing that the time has come for nominations. There, you can go in and post your choices for each category. Speaking of which, is the next ceremony in November or not?

Has there ever been an awards ceremony just for new authors or even just a newbie catagory?

I know I've been around for awhile, but I can't say I remember seeing anything like that.

 

There used to be a "Most Improved Author" category, but I don't think I've ever seen a best new author category either. That'd be a nice addition, I think.

 

i like that. Best New Author. I think maybe if that category were added, it would encourage new authors to improve their skills.
