Backstage?

BigFatty adjusts her dress and makes sure there is nothing in her teeth as she prepares to go out on stage. She is about to signal the stage manager that she is ready for the show to start when oldjedinurse runs up with a scared look on her face. ?We have a problem,? she states breathlessly.

?Of course we have a problem?? BigFatty mutters to herself. ?What is it??

?There was a mix-up with the invitations that were sent to the Saga characters. They think they?re here for a talent show.?

?Well? they kind of are, writing being a talent and all.?

?No,? oldjedinurse cringes. ?They think they?re here for a talent show and they?re the ones competing.?

?What?? BigFatty asks with a tone of dread.

?Yes. The only reason we found out was because we had to call an ambulance. Yoda was practicing a twirling routine with his gimmer stick. A toss got out of control, and the stick hit Obi-Wan in the head and knocked him unconscious.?

?Oh, Force.? BigFatty put her head into her hands. ?Just try to keep things under control and tell them the real reason they?re here. I?m going to go out and start the show.?

?Oh! One more thing?? oldjedinurse said while slowly walking backwards toward the green room.

?Yes?? BigFatty asks.

?Vader?s the judge. They?re starting that new show this fall, Imperial Idol, and he?s seeing this as an opportunity to test his feedback catchlines.?

?Great.? BigFatty says with a sigh. Taking another deep breath, she heads out onto the stage to the lovely sound of warm applause. ?Good afternoon and welcome to the 2006 Saga Summer Fanfic Awards. We hope you enjoy yourselves as we celebrate what you all have deemed the best of the best Saga has to offer for the past six months. And in case you forgot what that was, here?s a reminder.?
