This is why it's important that any sincere progressive should mercilessly mock and criticize him, even attack his his shallow character. He is a saboteur, a Manchurian candidate deployed directly from the aristocratic oligarchy to guarantee a second term for Trump, and all the right wing appointments to the courts, NLRB, FCC, and every other alphabet agency.

For the sake of unity the Democrats should keep the debates over their candidates as civil as possible but that doesn't apply to Schultz. He is a 21st century robber baron, with all the moral integrity of a thug sticking up a Seven Eleven but none of the courage.

dispels a bit of the myth that harris has a clear path to the nomination through the south.

there are few who pay attention to politics who don't know what sen. sanders stands for. i think that clarity will help separate him from this bloated field.

^To be fair, it seems that they are making the difference between favorable and unfavorable, ignoring the "not known" answers. If this is the case, well known candidates like Bernie have an intrinsic advantage that influences the reliability of the result.

I wonder how long it will be before the Trump crowd ads "Jewish" to "Democratic Socialist."

The more syllables it has, the more it will rile up the MAGA base. 'Jewish Democratic Socialist' has the perfect Trumpian ring to it.

But of course the Orange Cheetoh'll get a mulligan because Jared/Ivanka-who-converted. Yup.

Not going to happen at all - an overtly antisemitic message is a lose-lose scenario for Trump.

that assumes that the things trump says are all calculated, with the consequences thought through, and that he is i presume some kind of master thespian only pretending to be the world's biggest imbecile.

I'm thinking lots of talk about how Bernie is a (((globalist))) rather than anything specific.

If Bernie wasn't Jew we would be hearing the anti-semitism accusation against him 24/7, bipartisan effort.

Given how many Trump supporters latch onto anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Soros, and given that Trump called the Charlottesville marchers “very fine people,” an anti-Semitic message will be revered by his supporters and ignored by anyone who ‘doesn’t like Trump but doesn’t like the Democratic candidate either’.

I’ll be shocked if something like this doesn’t appear on the interwebz within a couple of days, by someone who is dumb enough to believe it.

As far as AOC and popularity—I think the fact that conservatives are obsessed with her says it all. They perceive her as a threat—if they did not, she would not get so much attention, much less so much hate.

I have establishment-Democrat family members who have said that she probably could not have gotten elected in a district less liberal than the district she represents, but that’s all they’ve said.

Establishment Democrats in office, however, probably dislike her because she challenges the corporatocracy they depend on.

Oh, and the others add up to over 100%.

I just don’t know what net favourability means, I suppose.

    Difference favorable and unfavorable

    EDIT:

More in the detail, they ask : " do you like the candidate?"
    Yes
    No
    Don't know

Then they subtract the % of No from the one of Yes.

This is done separately for each candidate. So do not expect to sum the percentages and obtain 100.

So as I suspected, the favourability index is the same thing that rhymes with the bullbittery index.

It depressed me that you spend so much time on a forum where you engage with actual socialists, communists, anarchists, social democrats, and you still have this Fox News-esc concept of what socialism actually is. Do you go to some clinic to get reindoctrinated?

    My top picks are:
    1. Sanders
    2. Gabbard
    3. Buttigieg
    4. Warren.

If it comes down to these four, I'll be happy with whoever wins. Though at that point, I feel like it'll be less about policies and more about who has the best chance of defeating Trump. Finally, while I don't think Buttigieg has much of a chance, I like that he has a military background to counter Trump's, "The GOP will keep you safe," B.S. Who knows, he might surprise people in the debates.

    Life reindoctrinates.

All you have to see is that socialists lost NYC 25,000 jobs and over $27,000,000,000 in tax revenue. You can spout all the economic theories you want. But real life will just punch you in the back of the head. Real life doesn't care about theories.

I wonder how many of those 25,000 people would rather have welfare than a job? We will find out in November 2020.
