I hate how much Piggy's stock has fallen. He has flown through some of the toughest parts of the EU. He was personally selected by Luke to fly solo missions during the Vong war as well as flying with the Wraiths and Twin Suns. We know he flew missions from 7 ABY to 29 ABY. Then again in 44 ABY he was brought out of retirement to lead the Wraiths. I get that skill is important and people think Biggs has this amazing skill, but you can't be unskillful and survive that long in an X-wing (and sometimes a TIE) so really I think the argument that Piggy didn't have mad skills is ridiculous.
