@ZV-83 Yeah that's a good one, I prefer the more gothic feel of Williams score. They're both have that foreboding feeling but I feel the darker, deeper tones of Williams version just gives it the edge for me.

 

I'm really looking more and more to this series for some reason. I'm digging the High Republic era a lot.

The last book was amazing. I couldn't put it down and let me tell I fear whats to come. The jedi will face those plants and they are no joke

 

I think I'm going to have to give the books a go... not really an EU guy, but I very much am a weird plant monster guy.

 

Dayum. That would be a nice prospect.

 

It would make her look like Darth Zannah, perhaps giving us the closest thing to a Zannah type character.

so in a star wars chronological watch thru.. the acolyte will be the beginning of the saga?

 

i hope so. we will know more than Anakin.. hopefully we will know Anakin was created by Palpatine

Nah, the force as a conterpoint to Plagueis immortality thing. He's a child of the force as Shmi tells even now in canon.

they tried in the legends plaguies book, i believe, but the will of the force and the dark side dosen't really work together. As the sith and the dark side is an ubalance.

 

Palpatine is goong to be the father of everyone if they do that.

 

I think we get mutch more into nightsisters in this show and the main character is a potential future sith lord. Maybe mother Talzing origin story. Darth Plagueis will be like Palpatine of the OT, he's out there and you only see him here and there. Dooku and Syfo dyas will someohw be involed. I think this show and any potenial spin off will serve as an origin story for the fall of the Republic and the jedi order. We will get Palpatine's story down the line in the timeline.

 

If this show does end up focusing on the witches of Dathomir, as some of us suspect, and if the Mandalorian’s Morgan Elsbeth was partly introduced as a way of hinting at that, then I would personally love for the way witchcraft is depicted in this series to focus more on martial arts or other similar physical empowerment.

I strongly dislike effects-heavy depictions of witchcraft on TV, such as can be seen in Buffy, Charmed, certain modern shows, and in TCW’s Nightsisters. It just looks bad in my opinion. So I would not want to see that transferred to the live action series.

Instead, I think an original take like martial arts would work better. Or if not that, then at least some of the more “historical” versions of witchcraft, like seeing the future or healing/poisoning or casting non-visible spells that affect reality indirectly. Penny Dreadful was pretty good at showcasing witchcraft in a cool and scary way.

 

Not interested in witchcraft nonsense, so hope that’s not a major element of the show.

 

I love me some Charmed and I enjoy the Nightsisters in TCW, but I would also prefer the witchcraft, if it is going to be apart of this show, to be more potion-based, have scrying, etc.. The green TCW magic can be saved for specific instances. I did like the glowing bows they had, though.

 

I mean withcraft is major part of star wars now, TCW, Rebels Fallen order and potenial TROS with ressurection.

 

I’m aware. It’s just that those are some of my least favorite elements of Star Wars. I only roll with it if something like necromancy/ resurrection happens very rarely, and is treated as a very, very big (and evil) deal. Witches casually doing stuff like that, without any major consequences or commentary on it, is where the idea really loses me. It just turns what should be considered something incredibly bad into a mundane matter of daily potion-brewing and spell-casting. Don’t like it. But totally fine if others do.

 

Well ressurection only happenned once with palps and in TCW only happenned was your normal witchcraft. MAul regained himself, Savage got bigger and stronger, green lighting, zombies and little more. You could argue mother Talzin died during th jar jar arc and she ressurected herself by taking some of Dooku's power. So ressurection i think will nver really happen unless it's big, maybe they'll explain Palpatine used their magics. And all this witchcraft and magic is said to be different use of the force, the dark side.

 

It was Zalem all along.

 

What if the jedi were once mistaken for witches and witchcraft, and there was awitch hunt for jedi in old ages like in the salem stories.
