Not too bad, it's a bit heavy on content though...

I can't help it if I'm lazy and interested in other things...I have to be in the mood to write these monsters. ;)

Sadly, we're never in the mood to read them. ;)

Forgive my ignorance, but has the AC actually ever suggested anything that has been put into practice?

Oh sure, we change things...but I couldn't tell you about some of the stuff that has been used by the Advisory Council. See the point is, if you bothered to read at least the highlight points of the updates of both the AC and the Mod Squad, then you would see changes in policy that we have created. The Spam/Sock policy was proposed and accepted in the Advisory Council, almost right after the membership in there agreed upon it farraday had it written down and created as the new law.
The same goes for the April Fool's Day joke a little while back, that entire joke was changed in the Advisory Council. But perhaps that?s not what you expected us to be doing, maybe you thought the whole point of the Advisory Council was for us to gung-ho ourselves into getting administrators demoted, crashing down forums, banning members and the like?

Well how about the time the Advisory Council discussed and suggested appropriate measures of punishment on Preacherboy?

I'm afraid that everyone, the membership included, could never quite understand what sort of work the Advisory Council does, even with these updates. It's one of those things where you have to comprehend that we're not playing the role of "The Democratic Mod Squad" but rather the forum "Watchdogs". Most of the time it's the administration coming to us and handing us new ideas for forum policy and asking us "What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? How would you change it? Can you guys tell us how the membership would react to it? Would you be willing to perfect it for us? Do you all agree upon it?"

We're the prototype floors where all of the inner-workings of the Jedi Council get tested, but you seem to have a hard time understanding that.

    Straining...to...understand.... :p

OK, good. As long as it actually serves a purpose, then it is a good thing. A more concise version of your updates would be appreciated. I know you and rhetoric are romantically linked, but it puts many people (myself included) off reading the updates.

The suggestion will now be discussed in the AC, and we will find out the results in the next AC update.

    Hahahaha...naw.

I'll take the information to heart personally and use it the next time I'm working on the AC update. I already think I got a basic idea of how I'll make these things from here on out...

btw: I'm wondering if I should post this week's AC update tomorrow, which, would be soon yes, but I'm asking you guys if you're ready for a new one. I know this one is a bit much to take in, but I'm pumped to improve upon this formula, and there are some new discussions going on in the AC as well.

It's up in the air, do you guys want a new one tomorrow or not?

If there's enough detail to make a satisfactory report, then by all means.

The topless women are for the ACers only.

And when I leave, I intend to keep them.

Tellesto, don't let them push you around. I think you and the AC do a great job! You guys operate like the American governmental system (democratic republic) well, except there's really no democracy, since the people don't vote on anything. But a Republic anyway. Which is better than a dictatorship, socialism, communism, anarchy, etc.

I had a point back there somewhere...oh yes, I think the AC is a wonderful addition to the JC. Keep up the good work!:)

The AC isn't completely democratic. Usually, there's enough agreement on most issues that voting us unnecessary. If you go by pure definitions, it could probably be classified as an aristocracy, but that implies a higher level of elitism than one finds here.

It's more along the lines of a think tank then anything, a conceptual house for threads and policy. Governmental wise, Dev is right on the money when he says most of the time it doesn't involve democracy to the extent that some might believe. Think of it as a form of Parliament or Judiciary Review for the Jedi Council.

Bah, you just don't like being called American [face_devil]

I dunno about Parliment. How are Parliment members elected?

Come to think of it, how are AC members elected? :p

I have no idea. Commander Antilles sent me a PM that said I was on the Advisory Council, and that was it. I blame Lord Bane. ;)

We're still working on a way to determine successors.
