If I saw her character's name in the imdb of the new series I'd be ready to subscribe to Disney+ right now.

 

The moment Campea said he didn't like Ahsoka Tano was the moment I stopped paying attention to him.

 

No wonder he didn't appear when Ashley Eckstein came on their podcast.

 

Ashley actually met Brie Larson recently and spoke about it in an interview.

Seems like a whitewash. Ahsoka's features in the TCW era were clearly afrocentric. Obviously, she's an alien, but a human with those kind of facial contours would almost inevitably be of sub-saharan extraction.

Throw some alien makeup on a face like that, and tell me you wouldn't get a better Ahsoka than Brie Larson.

(Hey, that random youtuber even sounds like Ash. A near identical warm, saccharine vocal tone. LFL could have scouted her, she could be a famous actress by now, lol.)

 

Also, her appearance in Rebels is much less 'afrocentric'.

May I find it disturbing that they used a pic of youngling-Ahsoka?

 

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that much if they chose Rebels Ahsoka but I guess they didn't think about the unfortunate implications.

 

To me, she has a typically South Indian look in both TCW and Rebels. Which gels with her clearly Indian-inspired name. Would be a very bad idea to cast a white woman in the role, IMO.

 

How about Ana de Armas as Ahsoka?

 

For me it isn't about the choice of words but the choice of the picture. Everyone else is an adult (Ok, I don't know when you're legally an adult in the GFFA, for me it's 18 as it is here), so that pic of Ahsoka is out of line. That said I would not say much about a pic of her from season 3 onwards. She's still young there but with 16 the context is different. (Again: as it is in my country. I realize it is different in countries where you're an adult with 21.)

As for the Ahsoka live action show (hope for a show not a movie) I would love if it happened. However I am not a fan of Brie Larson. I really enjoyed Captain Marvel (the movie, have not read her comics) but I felt like casting Larson was a weak choice as I felt that was the weakest part of the movie. I just really hope Ahsoka live action is a thing, but I will be very sad if Larson is playing her.

 

They could simply have her be played by a martial artist and voiced by Ashley which would make more sense in many ways.

 

Are we expecting Ahsoka's story to continue in live action or animated/novel/comics?
