IMO, Dowutin's model was pretty good, makes me want an at least one special episode about the High Republic era with this animation, specifically about the Nihil.

 

This Dowutin looked a lot better than the ones in TFA and Fallen Order, actually.

 

I’m not happy they copied and pasted the model of an actual existing character, didn’t bother to alter it at all and just put him in a different outfit and hoped no one would notice.

 

Wookieepedia somehow is treating the Trandoshian thug as the return Garnac. I mean Garnac fell to his death so I guess he could have survived that. Wait what if Garnac and Cid were lovers once (along with being the mother of Dar) and Cid used her Jedi contacts to provide the location for some of Garnac's prey.

 

That would be pretty dark.

Dont forget Rebels almost reused models all the time, lol.

 

Garnac is the character and I wouldn’t have minded them reusing his model if they had given it a reskin.

Given that we have seen many survive a lot worse Garnac could have easily survived that, but feel like if it was meant to be Garnac they would have given him dialogue and made it more clear it meant to be him. I think it would be a good twist if Cid’s dodgy past involved Garnac and his crew.

 

Seeing the BB are trying to keep a low profile from the empire this episode didn’t really make sense. Tech being cheered on by a packed stadium of witnesses isn’t going to help.

The race actually reminded me a lot more on the one in KOTOR than podracing

I'm really liking this season so far. This was a cool episode as well despite not having the whole team and in some ways allows for more focus to be put on a different characters, here Tech. I did like how Omega stepped up and made the deal though...one that could've gone sideways. One moment I did find funny though was when Tech was being announced and the announcer was, "Tech? Tech? Is that all?"

 

How did they confirm it?

 

Gave this episode a 5/10; maybe that's generous. I recall S1 being higher quality. Maybe it's because the BB plot lines better connected with Crosshair/the Imperial state of affairs, which, IMHO, is the interesting element of this show. That Thanos looking guy was an effective foil for Cid, albeit too effective because the only question that I came away from the episode is why Cid even bothers to remain in that game.

 

Ok that was quite fillerish racing episode, but nothing too bad either. That driverdroid was bit irritating though, but him being blown apart several times was rather hilarious. I liked the dowutin bad guy and it's nice to see nosaurian again, even though they really should get rid of stereotyping alien species like that, not all nosaurians need to be racers etc. It was interesting they focused on Tech so heavily in this episode so maybe we will soon see more Echo as well. He was neglected quite a bit in season 1.
