Then why did he kill the stormtroopers? Why didn't he Capture him. The Moff was still attacking Luke, he wasn't at Luke Mercy. It just seemed like Luke wanted him to keep fighting. Even worse is the fake inquisitor, who they DID have captured but then just let go.

Not really, Batman, et all are vigilantes, it can be rightly argued that they shouldn't go around murdering people but instead leave it to the system. (Joker 2 shows how the guards could deal with Joker if they wanted) And Starscream tends to betray Megatron/become a third agent in the war, when does he stab the Autobots in the back?

Luke is a Soldier fighting a war, he is fighting the Empire is this very moment, the Moff is attacking Luke, all Luke has to do is grab the lightsaber and demand the Moffs surrender, that not only ends the fight but also saves a lot more lives.

We shall see, Luke seems to have issues with red heads.

    Judging from that last page…

The Shadow Council is a lot bigger than its depiction in the Aftermath Trilogy/what anybody was actually expecting it to be

Anyway, I should imagine we should get official canonical depictions of certain other Council members which were first mentioned in said trilogy, which many here will be hoping to see shortly afterwards!!

Looking forward to Ferric Obdur's design, seems possible that this funny scumbag is going to look rather fabulously.

General Hodnar Borrum’s design should also be quite interesting to see as well.

Wonder if the end of this series will show whether he survived Jakku and what the Council did after Rax's death.

After Hux's brief showcase with his live-action appearance, maybe there will be Gideon's cameo as well ( espially considering that Rax's was ISB's de facto leader after Endor). Maybe his death in season 3 is permanent after all, and now there is no embargo on using him for other authors.

Well, zero info about Aphra's plans on post-Empire era and her serving only as the source of info for Luke, that is disappointing.

Rax's unshaved appearance reminded of some older fanarts with him. Loring being a part of the Shadow Council is rather strange.

Seems like Borrum was shown from the back, him having an artificial jaw seems fitting.

Only Rax, Sloane, Loring, and Randd were named, as Counsellor, Grand Admiral, Grand General and Grand Moff. The Battle of Jakku is already being discussed as the ultimate victory plan, and we’re pre-Aftermath II, which was 5 months odd after Endor as I recall.

I don't think that's the Shadow Council. I was under the impression that this was just Rax's top allies in his remnant. Randd is there, but he's a Grand Moff so that makes sense. Also I was thinking that the cyborg Imperial might be Visler Korda. But then again, perhaps the writers did decide to make the Shadow Council bigger. Time will tell!

Good point, seems more likely that this Imperial is indeed Korda.

Anyone else find a bit weird they are focusing on him but they haven't mentioned the Uprising against him at all, which was kind of the focus of his first appearance. Actually, does anyone know the timeline of that conflict?

Huh...winged rat-gorilla-trex thing...interesting. Reminds me of the skaven - certainly would fit as a Clan Moulder creation.

Funny that Adhelhard's biggest advantages are alliances that sought him out rather than the other way around.

Foolish man-thing there are no Skaven-things. Clan Eshin make sure of that yes-yes.

Yes-yes Luke-thing should have made sure.

    This issues was filler-set-up.

    Now to find warpstone...

I take it Adelhard isn't concerned about a minor issue inside his sector (comparatively).

Until it all falls apart, of course.

Good to have Valance back so soon, "troublemakers slipping in from the Unknown Regions" sounds intriguing.

I’m hearing a little bit of complaining that Sloane is mischaracterised in this, but I think people like her a bit too much as a Pellaeon-proxy - which she isn’t.

Operation Cinder wasn’t around when we saw her in Aftermath, and so we didn’t know her view of it. With the Sentinel droids tied into it, it follows that Sloane would have been, by retcon, aware of it.

Just because she didn’t approve of assassins on Chandrila didn’t mean she wasn’t happy to attack the planet mid-peace talks - just with the Navy instead. I don’t find it out of character for her to be in on Cinder, myself. Of course she didn’t start it but it was a reality of the Empire and those most loyal to it - even if she considered it wasteful Sloane was hardly going to voice it or oppose it. Sloane didn’t quit the Empire after Alderaan, or Endor, and as much as she despised the bureaucracy she was pro-Imperial to the very dead-end.

@DarthInternous, my two pennies worth, if it matters.

    Hmmmmmm.

Grysk? The Chiss mercenaries mentioned in the dubiously canon “Star Wars: Commander” ? Something else?

    XD

    Yes-yes, right-correct you are.

Silly me-thing just type-write nonesense. Not killed-murdered and replaced by Clan Eshin agent, yes-yes.

    I can see that.

...I just worry it might be a bit abrupt for comic only readers for them to suddenly show up and do some of the stuff they did in game* or were said to do in later sources** without being set up earlier in the story.
    *
    Namely, kill Bragg
    **
Helping Lando break the Iron Blockade and liberate Cloud City.

Wasn't one of the first things we learned about Sloane is that she helped found the First Order, aka the guys who think the Empire's problem was that it didn't do enough murder? That definitely seems a contrast with Pallaeon's path in legends, even taking into account all of GrandAdmiralJello's well-founded criticism of the man and his portrayal.

Might have something to do with the proto-First Order. Or, given the number of old marvel characters, might be a return for the Nagai or Tof. Or maybe even Ssvi-ruu.

    Lots of fun possibilities.

There's ways to read Sloane's literal first order of "be better". It can mean a more ordered, just empire or, it can be one that is better at brutality. It's very clear which of these Snoke and Sidious opt for.

Agree, she was alike Rax more than she admitted to herself. There will probably be no Pellaeon-proxy (in terms of being a benevolent, peace-seeking Imperial leader) in the foreseeable future.

IMO, Nagai and Tof seem like the most likely variant, although Ssvi-ruu's return would be great.

I’m not surprised, it was an old mobile game from the wee days of early canon back in 2014. I never played it myself, and I’ll be completely honest the only reason it caught my attention is because it featured an Imperial antagonist who had a squad of Chiss women working as mercenaries for him.

How canon it was/is doesn’t seem clear and I’m not sure that anything was followed up from it.

Copy-pasted from TVTropes article about the game…

The game was basically a combat strategy mobile game released on August 21, 2014 and sadly shut down on June 12, 2020.

The creators themselves have insisted that, while things like the characters, weapons, soldiers, artillery, and so on are canonical, the events of PVP matches should not be considered canonical.

Notable characters included Rebel Alliance commander Jennica Pierce, Rebel Senator-in-exile Johhar Kessen, Senator Senator Danry Ledwellow, Saponza (a mercenary), Kada Jahr (Jabba’s Head of Security) and Imperial Captain Kosh (who was also briefly mentioned in Aftermath: Life Debt).

It also has the notable distinction as being the source behind the “Chiss Mercenaries” source, which was briefly discussed in this very thread (with said mercenaries actually being hired by the aforementioned Rebel Senator-in-exile, Johhar Kessen, to act as his proxy military).
