united have (again) reached "personal terms" with sancho, and it looks like they've got negotiations with dortmund ahead.

95 million is the asking price, which i think united should pay without complaint.

LOL time is a flat circle

After agreeing to personal terms with Sancho, United have submitted a lowball offer that was completely and immediately rejected by Dortmund, and United must decide if they want to raise their offer.

It's like Fernandez all over again.

    It's beyond funny

In fact it goes right back to Fellaini except they took that long his minimum fee ran out and they had to pay even more.

They offered £80m last time, now that would be accepted and they're offering less?

This is why we'll end up with players like Pao Torres and Harry Winks instead of Kounde & Rice, clueless transfer negotiators.

Players like Pao Torres? a quality CB that should be playing at a much bigger club than he actually is?

Winks I'll give you. I think he's better than people give him credit for and would be an improvement on Fred but he's not the midfielder you need

Varane, Torres, Kounde, White would all be solid improvements on Lindelof.

Varane & Kounde are PL winning quality, Torres is not.

He's slow like Maguire & Lindelof already are, doesn't fix the primary issue with that pairing.

And he's not first or even second choice, Woodward should be getting Ole his first choices

The smart CDM move is Bissouma if United can't get Rice.
But Ole seems obsessed with going British, so it'll probably be Winks

He'd cost as much or more than Rice though.

And Leicester would probably bump the price up if United wanted Ndidi like they did with Maguire

probably so, did so with chilwell too. but ndidi is a borderline world-class player at a sparse, yet crucial position with a wealth of premier league experience at a club that has won a lot.

bissouma may turn out to be better for the price, but he's far less of a sure thing at a club with great expectations (insert joke here).

At the risk of inflaming an old debate, England would be better off finishing second in their group. ;)

Just like in the last WC.

I'd be perfectly happy if they made a slow start. Portugal were awful in the group stages of the last Euros.

Glad to hear that Eriksen is stable & conscious after the terrible situation earlier.

Denmark vs Finland apparently will carry on soon.

We were watching live when that happened... pretty scary. Glad to hear he's stable and doing better; I honestly feared the worst based on how things seemed when they left the field with him.

Do England really need two CDMs against Croatia?

And why is a RB playing at LB, are Shaw & Chilwell injured?

Two DM's against the team that were superior to us 5 years ago?

    Yes.

Trippier vs Shaw/Chilwell? Words fail me

no problem with two cdms. kovacic will sit back with brozovic while modric roams forward, england will have a better chance of controlling midfield with help for rice.

    trippier choice, I got nothing.

i would have liked rashford in this game, too. get sterling's value (in theory) to stretch the defense with his speed, but he's been in awful form.

Rashford's not been too much better

Grealish would have been the best option based on form

United's by comparison should be much easier for the first 8 games or so.

Though without better signings there will inevitably be points dropped that shouldn't be

Dortmund seem to be lining up a move for PSV's Donyell Malen, another sign that the Sancho move to United is forthcoming, as Malen would almost certainly be the Sancho replacement.

The fit at BVB depends entirely on if Haaland is around this season or not. If Haaland is there, Malen looks like a great fit with his ability to both score and generate chances for others, and seems to be the type that could spring Haaland on the regular. If Haaland is not there ... well, that's a whole different picture to examine, and the fit for Malen looks a little less clear, unless another "pure" striker replaces Haaland (Moukoko probably getting the first chance especially with the price tag on Malen that's rumoured around thirty million)

if haaland is not there, you'll be able to buy three or four pure strikers. if the two big moves do take place, dortmund could have around 300 million to work with in an offseason in which so many clubs need the cash. could conceivably lose two huge talents and end up much better next year.

..and then rinse, repeat with reyna and bellingham in a few years.

Arsenal have £40m bid for White rejected.

Thats probably a fair price for him in all honesty but as Brighton don't need to seel, they'll hold out for closer to £50m

Good signing if they get him but they need so much more than just a defender
