It'll paper over the cracks so the club can pretend nothing is wrong

Then the weekend comes along and humiliation at Liverpool followed by City will bring reality back

I suspect the actual final is going to be whenever Bayern plays Chelsea in the knockout stages and then there will be some formal matches left over.

Rapha Honigstein at the Athletic is convinced this entire UCL is already just an elaborate Bayern victory tour. He’s admittedly usually somewhat bullish on their chances, but if you watch the kind of casual ease with which they’ll switch on and tear a side apart he might have a point.

From a neutral perspective, that match was magnificent.

Up there with the Liverpool match last night, really enjoyed it

Liverpool will steamroll the midfield & defence though, forwards unlikely to bail United out in that situation

spurs drop to 3rd in their group in europa conference play, just lost at vitesse. lol.

hard to figure them out, they've looked quite good since that beatdown from arsenal.

The Nuno giveth and the Nuno taketh away. For indeed Nuno has existed from the morning of the world and Nuno shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although he has taken the form of Nuno Espírito Santo, he is all men as he is no man, and therefore Nuno is a god.

Joke aside, just glancing at Google he fielded an absolutely terrible formation today; it's possible the strategy is to not bother with Europe.

Romano makes a good point, second half Vs Atalanta showed the players will still fight for Ole when they could easily down tools if they wanted him gone.

I didn't think it was even possible for Haaland to get injured.

what a goal from mount. well outside of the box, closed down relatively well, still beats krul far post.

tuchel is very animated today, it seems like, to keep energy up. norwich can't be a letdown, and we have key guys out injured.

That giant plain text logo might actually make it worse than the Ronald McLiverpool kit.

Edit: Seems Borussia Mönchengladbach have the same thing going on the kit they’re wearing tonight. It does not look better in green letters on black.

just saw the highlight - it looked like an attempted bicycle kick got blocked, deflected, and then richter bicycle kicked the deflection into net.

a double bicycle kick? has to be some sort of record.

It was pretty cool in the moment, cooler now that it’s what won the match. And seriously, 12 points in 9 matches? Squarely in the middle of the table? What absurd wealth is this?

Same line-up by United they had in the CL.

I fear McFred will be overrun.

Bruno & Rashford both had knocks so obviously won't be 100% either.

I don't see this going well, unless Liverpool make a bunch of mistakes

i thought bruno had been ruled out injured, surprised to see him included.

klopp starting jota over mane, also interesting.

    draw would be lovely.

We know from last season & the Leicester game that Ole will play injured players anyway because he feels he has to.

It could work, or it could backfire.

Either way, doesn't show much faith in his squad considering Pogba or VDB could play in Bruno's position

Some truly heartbreaking missed opportunities in the first half. Otherwise an entertaining match so far, astonishing how much more enjoyable Barça are to watch when I don't have to sit through approximately 957 crosses to Luuk de Jong. The return of El Clásico crowd energy doesn't hurt.

yeah rich, i clearly don't get pogba being benched for these huge games. sancho doesn't have a place to go with rashford and greenwood, so i get that one.

but ole knows a lot more about his players than i do.
