Thrilled Mo is staying and even more thrilled he's not moving to a club I despise like a certain other forward I could name.

@FatBurt Left-back. Plays for Feyenoord and the Netherlands. He seems fine? I really only see Feyenoord in action when they’re playing Ajax, so…

Richie will probably hate him for some strange reason then. Not good enough, why isn't he Roberto Carlos etc...

Seems like a good back-up option, not very expensive.
Means we can sell Telles & Williams and raise some funds.

Because apparently that needs to happen in order to make signings, since the budget isn't big enough.

Henderson loaned to Forest with no option to buy.
But they are paying all his wages, which is surprising because I think he's on about £120k a week which is probably more than anyone else in that team

Should have sold him to Newcastle when they were interested, they've got money to burn now

I think it's actually a good move for both clubs for reasons cited on a prior page somewhere

United get a salary off the books but keep and keeper who can still play for them next season OR be sold for a higher price if he has a good season
It allows De Gea to play this season and prove to Ten Hag why he should be the number 1, knowing that Henderson is playing for his place next year.

Henderson is better on the deck than De Gea but De Gea is the better "keeper"

Basically, this season is an audition for the role of United keeper for next season onwards. Henderson to prove he's able in a side thats likely to struggle and De Gea with the opportunity to show he can play the sweeper/keeper role.

Next season, one of them will be sold

also, newcastle wanted nick pope, a much better/more proven keeper than henderson. could get him on the cheap due to burnley's financial catastrophe.

I expect he would, Mr Champions League can't be playing in the EL in one of his last seasons at the top level

Problem is, his agent has been looking around & so far got nothing.
Bayern didn't want him despite potentially losing Lewa, so who else will take on CR7 at his age and with his huge salary?

Barca president claiming they don't want to sell De Jong, despite agreeing a fee with United and this interest only happening because Barca have to sell him.
We know he doesn't want to leave & Xavi wants him to stay, the club were the ones pushing him out.
Now they aren't? I smell a ploy to spark a bidding war between Chelsea & United

What, are you insinuating that maybe Joan Laporta is using a crazy gambit to make money? Joan Laporta? Surely you jest.

Less of a UCL issue, more of a "why are teams like Spurs having a better transfer window than us?' issue.

Because you're focusing your effort into getting a player who doesn't want to join from a club who need the money and are playing hardball.

Your new Woodward guy needs a big win and De Jong is that big win. Woodward got Fellaini in his first window for more than his minimum fee because he was inexperienced. Your new guys has learned from that but is now going too far for one player who still isn't quite what you need as he only improves on what you have.
You should have gone for Neves. Knows the league, a destroyer in midfield and great range of play

De Jong improves you, as would Neves but Neves actually fills a gap you have whereas De Jong can cover that gap but its not his best role.

Plus, losing CR7 would be no real loss IMO. He disrupted the make up of the team last year (irrespective of the goals scored) and at 37 is not a player to build a team round. The pundits saying thats what Ten Hag should do are morons. Build a team for a player who has 1 or 2 declining years left in him? Absolute lunacy.

CR7 is the only player other than De Gea with the right attitude and he's a proven goalscorer with the right players around him, plus without him there isn't any striker option apart from Martial.

There are more important areas to improve apart from up front, so we're unlikely to bring in anyone in that position.

CR7 was a bad signing last year

Professionalism, he was perfect if his professionalism rubs off.

    It didn't

He totally changed the progressive front line Ole was trying to implement and later in the prior season was showing was starting to work. He just really needed that defensive midfielder to give that shield his set up needed for the harder critical games.

    You didn't get that midfielder
You also got a forward who didn't work with the proposed set up for the team.
CR7 would have been better off going to City and disrupting them OR moving to a team where a 37 year old forward who stays in the 18 yard box is best suited (any team in Italy)

Many of us said he was a bad signing and we have thus been proven correct. Let him move on, Rashford AND Martial are capable of scoring goals. Either give them the support and love that allows them to step back up to where they were 18 months ago (prior to CR7's arrival which would make them feel surplus to requirement) OR spend some cash on a striker after you get that defensive midfielder you've needed for FIVE years

Don’t mind Ronaldo leaving, problem is finding a replacement. Relying on Rash and Martial is a recipe for disaster

Shouldn't be playing at all, let alone at a "top six" side. Hopefully he'll be used as a sub, otherwise I fear the worst for his health.

He can't play 90mins, he'll likely be cover for Bruno since his form wasn't great last season and the only back-up was Lingard & Mata who weren't much of an improvement
Eriksen has trained with Ten Hag at Ajax, understands his style and can do it which is why he's wanted.

He trained with the Ajax squad after leaving Inter

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60130359

So he knows the style of play & ETH was very impressed with him during that time.
Ajax decided against signing him due to his health, now he's proven with Brentford he can can still play in the PL and have an impact so he's worth utilizing as a free transfer
