wow there is so much focus on man utd here.......last time i checked arsenal were on top. 7 points, and well deserved.

Arsenal do deserve to be top, no one can question that. But Manchester United are the most famous club in the world, so theres always gonna be alot of focus on us.

Everton, I don't mind the name change.

Last time I checked Man Utd were the champions

7 points is nothing, we were 5 behind at this stage last season and we still ended up finishing about 5 in front. United will win the league once more, Arsenal are born to be runners up :D

I predict United will draw tonight 1-1, which would be a good result.

I'd take a draw. But if Saha and Ruud are both playing we should win.

1-1 Halftime for United - Porto

I'd be happy enough with that for a fulltime result, I'm sure we could beat them at Old Trafford.

One of the worst performances I've ever seen a united team give. We were outplayed on every part of the pitch. Our creativity was non-existant, the defence was pathetic and the midfield was beaten to just about every ball that was contested.

We created two chances all game and one of them was a mistake by Vitor Baia. Porto had more chances than I care to contemplate. We were lucky to get out of there only 2-1 down. It's lucky than we're half decent at home or I'd be resigned to defeat.

As it is, Ferguson needs to do something quickly, whether it be severely reprimanding them or shuffling the team around.

Well poop. At least we got the away goal, 2-1 is better than losing 1-0. What the heck was Keane thinking? I mean the keeper overreacted but it was stupid to even slightly stamp on another player. Hopefully the defense can have a decent game at Old Trafford and keep a clean sheet.

I don't think it was as bad as everybody was making out. Granted, he should have been sent off, but it wasn't a vicious stamp, merely as if he was trying to get over him by stepping on him.

The whole Porto team were making things very hard for the referee. You could see that Ferguson wasn't too happy with the theatrics at the end of the game when he had a go at the Porto manager for it.

DB, what you said a few posts ago pretty much summed it all up for me. United were awful. I thought before the game that the performance tonight would at least be a bit better than saturdays against the scum, but it was even worse.

Keane played **** tonight. I don't care if he ran over there keeper or not, I was more concerned about his overall play! But then again, I couldn't really pick out one player for us who played well tonight.

    I'm depressed now!!!! :(

i'm sorry, but keano should be locked up!

    Don't be soft!

There's no way Roy Keane should've been sent off. It was a classic case of a player's reputation preceeding him. Bad referee. The simple inevitability of the 'stride' is so often seen as a stamp. Where else was his foot supposed to go?

That was the worst performance from Man Utd I've seen in a long time. What the hell were they thinking?

Keane did not deserve to be sent off though, and did anyone notice the bust up between Fergie and the Porto manager?

    Mourinho pwned Ferguson.

'I understand why he is a bit emotional', Mourinho said. 'You would be really sad if your team gets as clearly dominated as that by an opponent who has been built on maybe 10% of the budget.'

This is worthy of a roofle.

Very good post, I agree with everything there!

'You would be really sad if your team gets as clearly dominated as that by an opponent who has been built on maybe 10% of the budget.'

That brilliantly sums up the situation Man United is facing right now. I'm just praying Man United don't suddenly lose the second place in the EPL to Chelsea.

    tremendouse leadership by keano

the defence is in shambles, 7 points behind arsenal in the league, away to porto in a crunch european match, and what does the captain do?

    stomps on the keepers head!

disgraceful, but NOT surprising considering its keane.

and seriously, someone has to fix that defence or the title will slip even further away

LOL! Did anyone saw the "Judas!" banner made by Fulham fans for Saha?

    [face_laugh]

Now let's hope the defence does it's part...
