One of, yes. He was on Vampire, Vendetta and Hobart, he was the part of the crew who commissioned the Hobart. Sadly the Hobart was sunk off our coast for a man made reef, dad sat with my brothers on the coast line and watched it go down. He said it was quite an emotional thing for him. He was a 'Gunner' and now wears hearing aids as he said 'back in those days, we never got head phones or anything to protect our ears'. The Vampire is in permanent dock in Sydney at the Australian Maritime Museum.

I have, I was born after Dad left the ship, just after, otherwise my name would be on the ships bell! I got to look into my fathers quarters as the 'Chief Petty Officer' and honest, it was a metal coffin that scared me.....
