In case we needed confirmation, it's its own show, not a replacement for The Mandalorian. Starring a Maori actor and a Chinese-American actress. And with Robert Rodriguez on the Executive Production team. Here we go!
In a surprise twist I’m going to have to extend my sincere thanks to Solo for killing the anthology films because this is going to be so much better. Sometimes fate steps in to save the wretched indeed.
Dave and John do seems to be taking a lot on. So it would make sense for mando season 3 to came next year
Oh, very nice! Always happy to have more of this duo. I am also amused that there will be two shows about Mando armored ex-bounty hunters coming out at around the same time (I mean, yeah when you get down to it they are very different characters, but there are enough similarities to make the situation funny to men) Where?! *swings vibroaxe around* Huh...now I cannot help but wonder what Solo would have been like as a show.
We know how solid Filoni and Favreau are. Robert Rodriguez being involved has me extra excited, though. Hoping he brings a little bit of extra grittiness to the series, based on his prior work.
*arches eyebrow* Point You got me there, but It was more in reference to the films that we know Solo stopped (I.e Kenobi, Fett).
How long do you think it will be till we get Danny Trejo in star wars ?! and who would you like to see him play i'm going for Jaster Mereel ! or Montross ?
We've never actually "known" there were ever Kenobi or Fett theatrical films planned (or, for that matter, that Solo's performance actually caused the "Anthology" series to end). There were a lot of rumors and fan speculation, but those projects were never confirmed.
No we know about Boba for sure https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gamesradar.com/amp/star-wars-josh-trank-boba-fett-quit/
You learn something new every day! I was unaware of the Polygon interview, thanks for bringing me up to speed.
However unless I have missed something I don’t think we ever got confirmation that Kenobi was ever a movie if this post is edited it means I was wrong Edit: you do learn something new every day https://www.google.com/amp/s/collider.com/obi-wan-movie-update-disney-plus-series-ewan-mcgregor/amp/
When it comes to rumors, a few too many fans have, shall we say, "broadened the meaning" of the term confirmed to such a degree that I've come to accept the official site as pretty much the only reliable news outlet. While it means I may miss the random Josh Trank or Ewan McGregor interview in which they actually do legitimately confirm a rumor, I'm also not out there insisting they're making Jabba the Hutt or Yoda or Maul spinoff films so I'm going to call that a fair trade-off.
I like Solo much better than most - heck, I will put it down as one of my favorite star wars movies - yet I can't disagree. In particular, I feel like a series would have given some of the characters in Solo more time to develop and plot points time to breathe. All the more reason to be excited about this and the Lando show then.
I mean, to all intents and purposes we can pretty much think of both SOLO and R1 as feature-length pilot episodes for a lot of what we're going to get now. I just rewatched R1 the other night and as very cinematic as it is, taken out of its original context of "holy moly an actual OT-era live action Star Wars story like we never thought we'd get" and viewed after two seasons of Mando and knowing what's coming soon, it very much plays like "just more good onscreen Star Wars for ya". After one season of ANDOR it'll be even more like that; same with SOLO after LANDO's been released.
Plus seeing as the Boba show is almost certainly going to follow boba and the underworld in some capacity you could do a sequel to Solo. Perhaps Qira is still out there
Bad Batch and Visions are also supposed to air in 2021. So, considering BBF isn't premiering until December 2021, it's likely that the cartoons will be coming out earlier than that.
Really hyped for this, and for Visions! I've been a Mandalorian fan a long time and a Fett fan even longer! So glad he's finally being done justice!
