Hello all! I'd like to welcome you to my display thread for a project I've been working on. I am currently in the midst of writing a series of Original Character-centric fan fiction stories set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back called 'Tales from the Fringe,' and have decided going about creating a group of portraits of all of the named OCs from the series (and a few unnamed), with the help of many wonderful artists and a small bit from my own hand. With these portraits, I hope to eventually create a series on digital 'trading cards' for my story.

Very nice work by everyone! I love the choice of colors and the way the background is brought out in the various pieces. It's also nice to see the varying styles and personal influences of each artist when looking at two of the images side by side.

Heh...thanks for the (only) comment, DV. Heh. The artists have and are continuing to do marvelous jobs in helping to bring this about, and it is truly interesting to see the differences between the styles for each, as you said.

Keep your eyes open...there's more to come! Including some by yours truly and by the vundebar Falcon_Fan, among others, once I get them all colored.

 

Ooh, how neat! Very interesting sneak-peeks at future tales, and the first two are pretty much like I imagined them.

Hey, you finished Obbeo!! What a great environment you have him in here, with all the kitchen/chef utensils around him--and the colors are wonderful! "Iron Chefs" look out!! lol! The shading is great, and you've really given him a lot of "volume" here--it only adds to an already-great piece! The Quarren swordsman is wonderful, too--I love that sort of casual look he's got going there, glancing off to his right...at a potential victim...? Well done, R_Zion!

You've got a lot of great pieces in here, I really like the 2 Wicktone did.

Also the great character design by Esira, love the pose and colors.

I'll have to read you Fanfic when I get time it sounds very interesting.

I saw him earlier, and I like Sillek. You already had him described well, and this reinforces it. And I must admit, Obbeo isn't one I'd expect to have a cool picture, but it's very nice. And yes, screams "Iron... KISSEEM!"

At least, that's what I think the chairman yells right before announcing, "Martian Brain Crab" or whatever weird ingredient they're using that day.

 

Well, I don't have anyone with 'Martian Brain Crabs' this time, but even better, an absolutely fabulous rendition of the bipolar Repair droid, Leda, by Soitscometothis!

Come bask in to marvelousness, just try to watch out for flying wrenches.

I've had some pieces for a while, but I've been trying to get them colored (there's actually one on here that is colored but I need to dig up the pic), but after some thought, I've decided to post some of the B&W pics up here for you all (which would have made FF a happier camper if I had come to this decision earlier).
