it was one of the few png 'icons' on the boards, so it kind of stood out amongst the others on the board


back then avatars (called icons) were made by 'icon artists' who would submit them to the boards for us users to use, you couldn't choose your own avatar like you can now, -only those in the icon gallery, though to be fair there were a lot to choose from- and they were SW only.

 

I don't know how, but I completely missed that.
