BTW, one of my coworkers said on Friday, "Why isn't Obi-Wan a Sith?" implying that he'd done so much bad stuff that he might as well be. I explained that most of my online friends agreed that he is about as close to the Dark Side as you can get without going over. Geekiest discussion in a brokerage firm in a long time.

 

“From a certain point of view,” he did. At least for those were working on SW BFIII.

I think he did. And prob. regretted it. And made up for it by sacrificing himself for Luke.

 

I wonder what @Kaleesh-Cyborg would say about that.

 

There are some books that indicate Kenobi did go dark briefly and even tried to kill Qui-Gon.

But you asked if I think Obi went dark. No, but he had a Sith belief, “once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.” He could not believe Luke’s words, “there is good in him, I have felt it.” His response, “he’s more machine now than man, twisted and evil,” speaks volumes for Obi’s belief in redemption. In ROTJ, Luke is more a Jedi, because he believes the good, the Light, is strong enough in his Father to be redeemed and become Jedi Prodigal.
