NO. I had asked a MOD to FIX the BROKEN IMAGES so I could add in the LATEST DEATHS in a thread that wasn't full of OBSOLETE markup. Alas they're all far too BUSY to assist.

Tell them it's your birthday and ask for your powers back for the day and knock yourself out, Manager Emeritis.

Not exactly a death, but Harry Shearer has reportedly quit the show. That means no more Mr. Burns, Otto, Flanders and many others.

Yep, it's time for the show to just end. Stupid sexy Flanders.

They won't RETIRE 1/4 of the whole CAST. Anyway, this will be the normal PLOY for more MONEY. Still SHEARER can always get SPINAL TAP back together for one LAST HURRAH.

It's GOOD that you made your POINT clear, for I'm not SURE if one could have done so otherwise.

Agree with jp. The series was just renewed for two more years, so FOX will likely renegotiate a raise to keep Shearer.

It's different than past disputes because it's over merchandising rather than base pay. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they renegotiated.

I blame the Muppets for this recasting idea.

Don't watch their new show this fall. You're only encouraging them!

Fox tried. Shearer is done. He walled away from a $15 million deal.

if the horrible quality of this show for like the last 15 years hasn't been enough to make people stop watching then i can't imagine shearer leaving will either.

It went to hell after Phil Hartman was murdered. None of mthe characters brought in to replace his characters were any good.

I thought the movie would've started a new era or something, but I guess not.

The characters have been too static for too long. The best way to revive the show would be to age the characters. Aging everyone, especially Bart, Lisa, Milhouse, etc would do wonders for the show, I think, even if they only aged everyone by five years.

They already did. Lisa becomes president, Nelson is one of her Secret Service agents. Bart and Ralph try to use government resources to advertise for their band. And Homer searches for gold that Lincoln buried at the White House because the Great Spirit thought that the main story was a little boring.

In fact, the past two season Christmas specials have showcased the future of The Simpson families.

And to be honest, I actually like the aged Simpsons better than the current Simpsons now.

Yeah, they've done episodes where they've explored what the character's lives might be like 20 years in the future like in Lisa's Wedding, then at the end of the episode they push the reset button. I'm talking about permanently aging the characters by at least five years so Bart would be 15 and in high school, probably in grade 10. Lisa would be 13 and in the 8th grade. Maggie would be 4 or 5 and in kindergarden. Homer and Marge would be in their mid to late 40s instead of their late 30s-early 40s.
