Well, yes. So I like the format this year.

I thought we had three weeks from the time we recieve the dare to when we should post it... that would be 21 days.

That's three days less than a week... or are these weeks GFFA weeks which last only 5 days in which it would be three days more than a week

Actually it's not as bad as it could've been I suppose. At least I can say it's not as bad as the one I dished out.

 

All I know, Lily, is that I better not get yours again...Or maybe that would be ok. The last one turned out well.

 

We can extend the deadline. Last time we got complaints that it took too long. See? This is why I said TENTATIVE!

POST: Feb. 4-25

JUDGE: Feb. 27-March 3

RESULTS: March 4

I loved reading that! Well if you thought last year's was crazy, this one's a million times worse.

 

Ok, this isn't bad. I think the hardest part is going to figure out away to combine the extremely disparate threads into one coherent story. Fortunately for me, this one is definitely a humor piece, which, I hope, plays to my stregnths. Colors. here I come! (Also, arrogance is a strength of mine. Wait, is arrogance a strength?)

 

Just got mine . . . cue huge sigh of relief. I think it's tractable.

Can we submit more than one response to our dares? Will both be considered for the prizes, or just one? I feel the need to write the obvious humor piece, but also the more dramtic piece that is forming slowly in my head.

Ooh this was such a funny dare to write. And here it is:

My challenge was this: Write a fic in which Artoo resists an upgrade that would give him the ability to speak Basic.

 

Hehe, my dare is totally doable. I'm not quite sure how I'll pull it off, but I'm quite certain I can make it work. *runs off and plots*

 

May whomever it was that first came up with the idea of required words in writing challenges have his or her soul thrown into the blasphemous non-Euclidian horror of Cthulhu's digestive tract, where new meanings of the words "fear" and "pain" will be learned as humankind's pitiful illusions of normality are torn asunder by the merciless truth - that words are but futile attempts to keep back the relentless avalanche of reality, that inidividual minds and even civilizations are too limited to grasp the whole of existence, and that attempts to discard the comfortable lies humans have crafted around themselves to hide this fact inevitably ends in those searchers for truth being denounced as insane.
