[:D] I hope your dog is OK. I know how important pets are, I'd be very upset if something happened to one of out cats. :(

If it does, I will send PMs to all my peeps and definitely put it on my blog. From there, if necessary, people can ask via PM.

Absolutely. But on the other hand, I'll have two whole days where I know I don't have to watch the mailbox.

I worked this morning and now I'm off for two days! [face_dancing]

Glad to hear there's no mass or tumor, oqi. I know that our furry friends are a part of the family. I guess that's why I helped Megan pay $120 to get a stupid bone cut off of her dog's muzzle. :p Only one of our animals would be so...clumsy.

    How's the dog doing today?

She's alert and trots around. Her depth perception is off because of her "cone". I gave her the first round of insulin this morning and she's on pain pills discourage 'crazy dog running around' behavior. I have access to most medical journals online, so I'm trying not to read too much as it just makes me paranoid.

$120 Ouch! I don't even like the co-pays at my kids' physician...

And we paid it because we love him...I think we do anyway.

Well, if he misbehaves now you'll be able to use that to blackmail him, "we didn't pay out all that money only to have you misbehave!" or something like that . .

I can understand paying what is necessary for our very beloved pets.

You would not want to know what I've paid in the past on my guinea pigs or how I've gotten up every two hours to hand feed them when they were ill.

When we adopt the animals, we are their caretakers and have to do right by them.

Good thoughts aimed your way oqi.

And tell Punkin, "gggrr, rroof, rwarrrf."

    You said it, Leona. :)

Sorry, just had to say that to something incomprehensible once.

Punkin? When I was growing up, we had a cat named that. She was older than I was, and I was away at college when my parents had her put to sleep. I'll probably forgive them one day.

My dad did that with our dog my freshman year. I still periodically look for him when I'm pulling out of the driveway. :( I'm not mad at Dad though - at least with Joey, it would have been cruel to wait.

My parents have never put a pet to sleep, for which I am grateful.

But when they get old and sick, it's just more humane to take them to the vet's to be put down. And sometimes you have to do it to the animals, as well.

    *snort* You're terrible.

Well, I'm leaving soon for the barbecue. Will see you all on the other side of the social thread world.

In honor of the passing of this thread, here's my favorite poem by Tennyson:

    Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
    Turns again home.

    Twilight and evening bell,
    And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
    When I embark;

For tho? from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

    *wanders into social thread*

Gee, it's been forever since I've been in here. This thread was the first to go when school got uber crazy. :p

In any case, I'm graduated, unemployed, and suddenly finding much more time for fanfic! :D Though I really would rather be working. I've gone from overstimulation to understimulation, and it's driving me nuts.

However! I had an interview with DreamWorks Animation, for a Technical Director position. I got to meet the two head TDs, and I liked them both quite a bit. I'm still waiting to hear back from them, though. In the meantime, I'm going to keep researching jobs and doing temp work.

And, of course, hanging around in FanFic more often. I missed this place.

EDIT: I know how to pick my entrance times. I just realised this thread was almost at 10K. To be fair, I opened this post window up long before I finished posting. :p

And with that, the mods lock the thread...

Seriously, good luck with the DW opportunity, maybe we'll see your name in the credits for Shrek 4!:D

EDIT: I really do love animals, I'm just distant since I was never allowed one since the "Blackie" incident of 1984. *sigh*

Yes, this post took her a week to write. To be fair, she almost had it done sooner, but she lost two days trying to verify whether DreamWorks was one word or two.

Typing of which, if you get the job, can we get characters named for us in Shrek XVII?

EDIT: This week, Starsky and Hutch go undercover in the world of illegal pod-racing.

EDIT II: Time and space are fluid. Not like water, but a bit more viscous, like maple syrup. And also like syrup, they go well with spaghetti.

EDIT III: Leona, did you break the boards again? [face_mischief]

EDIT IV: And this reply can be yours for $99.99!

Har har. You're a witty one, to be sure. Also, I'm a girl.

EDIT: And I think that might've been the last post. d00msday has come!
